On November 24, I drove to Dongling Mountain Scenic Area. I wanted to escape the smog in the city, so I drove to Dongling Mountain Scenic Area, which is 100 km away. I didn't climb Dongling Mountain, but I found the small hill I discovered in the summer. You can see Beiling Mountain, Huangcaoliang Mountain, and Dongling Mountain from here. The view is very open!

Dongling Mountain Night Climb⛰️: Stars and Sea Within Reach🌌 🌙Departure Under the Night Sky🌙 ⛰️Dongling Mountain, the peak of Beijing. Having experienced several night climbs, I never encountered the ideal starry sky, sunrise, and sea of clouds. After several days of heavy rain, it was still raining during the day on Friday. I was hesitant to go, but after checking several weather apps with different forecasts, I decided to take a chance and followed X on the journey to Dongling. 🌟Accompanied by a Sky Full of Stars🌟 🌌 Fortunately, the rain stopped when I left. There were only two groups due to the rain, and there were many empty seats on the bus, so each person could occupy a row. When the bus departed, it started raining again. I rested immediately after taking my seat, and when we arrived at the starting point, the rain had stopped, the sky was clear, and the stars were visible to the naked eye. It was the first time I saw such a clear starry sky. 🥾Leisurely Night Climb🥾 🌟The most enjoyable part was hiking under the starry sky. When tired, I looked up at the stars, and there was lightning in the distant valleys. The night climb was a round-trip route, mainly consisting of steps and boardwalks. To avoid reaching the cold summit too early, I stayed in a small house at the mid-station of the cable car for a long time to shelter from the wind. About 1.5 hours before sunrise, I set off. Near the small house, I tried various angles to photograph the starry sky, using laser pointers, headlamps, and flashlights when taking pictures of people. 🌅Imperfect Sunrise🌅 ⚠️Before reaching the summit, yaks🦬 and cows🐮 may appear. Be sure to pay attention to the black yaks and walk in groups to avoid disturbing them. While waiting for the sunrise at the summit, I kept taking silhouette photos and observing the sea of clouds. Unfortunately, near sunrise, there was always a layer of fog on the horizon, and the sun emerged from the fog, lacking some brilliance. ☁Foggy Sea of Clouds☁ ☄️Although I didn't see the desired sunrise, the sea of clouds was also not ideal, with only a little in the valleys. It seems that weather forecasts cannot be fully trusted. However, a few uniquely shaped clouds drifted in from the west, and their colors were brilliant under the morning sun. Charge headlamps and flashlights in advance, and hang a small bell for night climbing; 3️⃣Respect cows🐮 and yaks🦬, do not approach them when encountered, as they may be grumpy and chew on stones when angry; 4️⃣For photographing the starry sky with a phone📱, set white balance to 4800, exposure to 30s, maximum aperture, and ISO3200. If you don't have a tripod, use stones or railings as a support; 5️⃣The road surface is covered with dew in the morning, making it slippery. Multiple levels of difficulty are available, including night climbing, camping, and day trips. 1⃣️Novice-friendly route: Jiangshuihe Village-Donngling Mountain The whole journey is 12km with a climb of 800m and leisure time of 5-6 hours. (You can park your car next to the red-roofed building. It is a very popular route. It is friendly to novices. Even many children and dogs can climb to the top.) 2⃣️Advanced Route: Juling Gorge-Donling Mountain The whole journey is 16km with a climb of 1300m, which is very tough on your legs. 🎒Equipment: -Breathable trousers (shorts are a bit cold) -Sun protection clothing/jackets (if you are afraid of the cold, you must have a jacket! The wind is strong🌡️minimum 18 degrees) -Treeking poles (must bring them! The Jiangshuihe Village-Donling route is really very friendly! On the way, I met many people who returned halfway through the climb. Many of them were because it was too cold without any clothes! Everyone must be prepared! As long as you climb the most difficult first hill, you are 80% done. The meadow behind is almost flat! With the gentle breeze blowing and looking at the beautiful scenery in front of me, I really don’t feel tired at all.

| Experience the beauty of Dongling Mountain on foot. 🚶Hiking starting point, Kongjian Village, Zhuolu County, Hebei Province, 140 kilometers away from Beijing city, 2.5 hours by car. 🌅Main Scenery: The snow-covered Ling Mountain in winter is majestic and fascinating. A group of people cross the birch forest, step on the snow and make a crunching sound, the Five Finger Peak in the distance is shrouded in clouds and mist, and occasionally see eagles soaring in the sky. After a short stay at the pass to recharge, continue to slowly advance towards the top of the mountain. After a climb, you see "Dongling Mountain 2303", everyone can't help but cheer... .I have been paying attention to the weather in Dongling for a long time. I saw the forecast of snow a week ago and considered safety factors to join the group. The team originally planned to cross to Jiangshui River, but turned back due to heavy fog and other conditions, and later the highway was unexpectedly closed on the return journey. I was well prepared personally, with warm babies and thermal blankets, and the waterproof performance of the new shoes was verified again. Keeping warm in high-cold areas is very important, bring waterproof storm jackets or raincoats, snow covers and ice claws are very useful for downhill, spare shoes and socks are useful for downhill. 🗺️Hiking Route: .Kongjian Village-Dongling Mountain-Kongjian Village, as a return route. The journey is about 11 kilometers, the height climbs about 1200 meters, mainly snow roads, meadow roads, and stone roads. The difficulty factor is primary (dangerous), and the hiking time is 5 hours. Section description: From Kongjian Village to the pass Mani pile, 4km snow road, stone road, passing ice waterfall, two steep slopes, climbing 800m; .To Dongling Mountain, 2km meadow road, stone road, passing Five Finger Peak, climbing 400m; To Kongjian Village, the original route is returned, the journey is 5km, and the drop is 1200m. 🌟Precautions: 1. The snow on the grass is very slippery, and the climbing stick is convenient for exerting force under the feet; 2. Although the journey is short, it is cold and desolate, like a no-man's land, and needs to fully assess and consider various emergency situations; .3. Should fully assess snow, temperature and wind, the temperature on the day is -5 to -9, breeze 2; 4. It is easy to get lost in heavy fog, be sure to record the track and download the offline map for backup; .5.
