Departing from Keelung Port in Taiwan, we took the Taiwan-Malaysia ferry which departed at 12:00 midnight and arrived at Dongyin Island, the northernmost island in the Taiwan Strait, at 8:00 in the morning. The island is filled with many past military facilities, and the natural and pristine scenery is even more stunning. The most famous one is the Dongyin Lighthouse. Matsu has four townships and five islands. This is also my father's hometown. Dongyin is the northernmost tip of Taiwan. It is very similar to the US Route 66, which is sparsely populated. But the desolate beauty is really beautiful. It is really suitable for a boat trip from Keelung to be isolated from the world.
