2025 Seoul Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in June)
Seoul is the capital city of South Korea. The temples and palaces of this city tell a long and storied history. The magnificent natural landscape and modern skyscrapers merge together to form a city that is both young and cultured. Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces are ancient palaces, while Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village are well-preserved traditional Korean villages. Seoul is a shopping paradise. In Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun Market, Sinsa-dong, and Samcheong-dong, you can find all kinds of cutting-edge fashions, including clothing, jewelry, and make-up. Once night falls, Seoul is even more magnificent. Climb atop the YTN Seoul Tower to feast your eyes on the city's glittering nightscape. The Han River is the background of many beloved Korean soap operas. Seoul's delicious food is not to be missed. Bibimbap, kimchi, and Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) are all delicious in their own right.

A Quiet Gem in the Heart of Seoul 🌸🏯
Changgyeonggung Palace feels like stepping into a peaceful slice of history right in the middle of the city.
The wooden palace structures, the wide courtyards, and the greenhouse garden at the back were all so calming.
Note ✨ if you’re wearing hanbok (traditional Korean dress), your entry is totally free! So why not dress up, soak in the royal vibes, and snap some extra-Instagrammable shots without spending a won on admission?

🇰🇷🏨5 recommended hotels in Seoul! We chose them with an emphasis on cleanliness!
Finding a hotel in Seoul is really hard... Especially in Gangnam and Myeongdong, there are so many options that I always get lost on where to stay💭
Even if it looks really nice on the booking site, when I actually go there I think, "Huh... is this really this hotel?"🥹 lol
I try to avoid motels as much as possible, and prioritize "cleanliness" over location and size🍃✨
Korean hotels can have a different feel than Japanese hotels, so I really recommend checking the reviews on Google Maps! You can see real information that you can't get from photos, so it's reassuring to look at them carefully without compromising◎
I think everyone has different priorities, but this time I've carefully selected 5 hotels in Seoul that I've actually stayed at and thought were good, or that I was considering and thought, "I can confidently recommend these hotels!"🫶
I hope this will be of some help to those who are going to travel to Korea💞 I hope that your trip will be more enjoyable with a comfortable hotel stay✈️

Travelling to Korea alone!
You can enjoy traveling to Korea even by yourself✨🤍
1. Sky Top Hotel Incheon
This hotel is located in Unseo Station, close to Incheon Airport. The rooms are relatively clean and come with a washing machine and a kitchen. There is no refrigerator, so be careful. The bed is spacious and the TV is large, so you can stay comfortably.
2. Gogo artmake
This is a salon for art makeup located in Gangnam Station. Japanese is available. If you come back within 10 months, it will cost you ₩150,000.
3. Esjun Clinic
I went to Hongdaewon. They will remove moles for ₩4,000 each. If you buy the regenerative tape in advance, you don't have to buy it at the clinic. Japanese is not available.
4. ID Medical Piercing (아이디메디컬피어싱)
A piercing shop in Hongdae. They use anesthetic cream so the pain is minimal. It depends on the area, but I had my tragus and forward helix pierced and it was ₩72,000 including the piercing fee.
5. Bagel Land Hongdae (베이글랜드 홍대점)
A Korean bagel shop. You can take out or eat in, you can order drinks and warm them up in the toaster yourself. I was able to enter easily even by myself.
6. HBAF Almond Store
I went to the first store in Myeongdong. You can buy flavors that are not yet available in Japan and snacks other than almonds. I think the all-in-one pack that contains all flavors is perfect for giving away as souvenirs.
Also, I forgot the name of the store, but you should try the jjukkumi (쭈꾸미) and chimaek (치맥).

Drinking makgeolli, which goes well with kalguksu and pancakes, will definitely make you happy. lol

[Anguk, Seoul] I found a beautiful parfait in a traditional Korean house 🥹✨
Anguk is a popular spot, but there are also many cafes that use Korean houses!
One of the recommended Korean cafes is [fou de the], where you can enjoy tea and parfaits✨
The interior of the store has a calm atmosphere, and in the warm season, the small windows are open, making it a space where you can relax in the pleasant breeze.
There was a seat available in the courtyard, so I spent my time relaxing there☺️
When I ordered, they gave me a welcome tea, which I drank while waiting for dessert✨
As for the main parfait, I ordered the [Matcha Mont Blanc Parfait]🌰
It looks beautiful, but the rich matcha and Mont Blanc were so delicious that it was gone in no time. lol
And for tea, I ordered roasted green tea and green tea🍵
It was hot that day, so I had it iced🧊
The sweet parfait and cold tea were a great match!! !
Please note that you must order one menu per person at this restaurant⚠️
And if there are a lot of people waiting, there may be a time limit🥺
If you like hanok houses or parfaits, please come and visit us♩

[Korea Travel] 40 items to buy in June🛍️🩵
I went to Korea alone for 4 nights and 5 days from May 30th to June 3rd 🙋♀️🇰🇷✈️
This time, the timing coincided with the Oriyaan sale,
and I was also able to go to Hongdae for the first time in a while, so before I knew it, I had bought a lot of things 🤭
Verish in Apgujeong was undergoing renovations, so I couldn't buy the items I wanted this time either...💦
I'll definitely get revenge next time!
And! This time, I was also able to go to "hetras" in Anguk for the first time 🥳
Since I was carrying it on board, I gave up on the large-capacity body lotion...I bought hand cream instead 🧴💜
Also, this time I used "Cheongju Airport" instead of Incheon,
so it was a lot of trouble (lol)
I'm planning to make a separate video report on this story, so please look forward to it 🎥
I'm going to Korea for my birthday next month,
so I hope you'll save this post and use it as a reference for your trip 💕

Beautiful Yakgwa Set as a Souvenir from Seoul, South Korea
I bought this stunning Yakgwa set as a souvenir for myself and as a gift.
On the November 8, 2024 broadcast of 'Buzz Rhythm,' TVXQ presented this Yakgwa set as a gift!
Both the wrapping cloth (pojagi) and the Yakgwa are so beautiful that it feels almost too precious to eat 😊. I used to think Yakgwa was greasy, but the ones with filling inside were surprisingly delicious 😋.
Since I only purchased souvenirs this time, I’d love to come back for tea next time ☕. The space was lovely right from the entrance ✨.
When I gave the pojagi-wrapped gift, the recipient said it was too beautiful to open 😅. And when they finally opened it, they said it was too beautiful to eat 😅.

A hotel in the heart of Seoul, Korea, where tradition and modernity are beautifully blended!

South Korea · Seoul|Gyeongbokgung Palace
How can you visit South Korea without stopping by this iconic landmark? 👘🏯
Today, I stepped into "Gyeongbokgung Palace" in the heart of Seoul, and it felt like traveling back hundreds of years to the Joseon Dynasty. I chose a hanbok to wear, and from the moment I exited the subway station, it was as if I had been transported into a historical drama. Walking through the palace gates truly felt like time had come to a standstill.
🔸 The palace architecture is breathtakingly beautiful. Every painted beam and every window frame is meticulously crafted. My favorite spot is the plaza in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall—standing there and looking out, the grandeur is awe-inspiring yet elegant.
🔸 I was lucky enough to catch the changing of the guards ceremony. The drumbeats were electrifying, and the atmosphere was incredibly immersive! This isn’t just a tourist performance; it’s an authentic recreation of the royal protocols from the past. Highly recommend checking the schedule for this event!
📸 Wearing a hanbok for photos here is absolutely worth it. I couldn’t stop snapping pictures, especially in front of Gwanghwamun Gate! Plus, hanbok wearers get free admission, and there are plenty of rental shops with a wide variety of options.
If you love history and appreciate beautiful architecture, Gyeongbokgung Palace is definitely worth spending half a day exploring. It’s not just about capturing stunning photos—it’s also a cultural experience that offers a glimpse into ancient Korea.
📝 Tips:
✔ Wear comfortable shoes—the palace grounds are quite large!
✔ It can get crowded, so visiting in the morning is recommended for a quieter experience.
✔ If you don’t mind the cold, Gyeongbokgung Palace in autumn and winter is stunning, with the red maple leaves perfectly complementing the palace scenery 🍁
Korea/Seoul [Chungmuro] Seoul's 3 Great Cold Noodles
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
I went to Pildong Myeonok in Chungmuro, Seoul✨
It's getting hot in Seoul, so I decided to eat something cold and refreshing, and chose this place with my friends!
A restaurant that has received many Michelin and Blue Ribbon awards✨
It is a long-established restaurant that was founded in 1985, and is said to be a famous cold noodle restaurant that everyone knows!
It is also called one of the three great cold noodles in Seoul😳
There was a long line before 11:30 on a weekday, and I was surprised that it was a popular restaurant✨
This restaurant is Pyongyang Cold Noodles, and its characteristics are thin noodles based on buckwheat flour and a clear soup made with beef bones, pork, and tongchimi (radish water kimchi).
Pyongyang Cold Noodles don't have much flavor, but
I've eaten Pyongyang Cold Noodles at several restaurants, and many of them have noodles that are powdery, but the noodles here were delicious!
The mandu was well steamed and had plenty of meat, so it was delicious 🤤

[Korea/Seoul] Probably still unknown to Japanese people! [Joajuknechukumi] 🐙🐙
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
I found my favorite jukkumi after a long time 🐙💡
The best thing about this restaurant is that you can top your bokkeum with plenty of flying fish roe ☺️🫶
I think Hongsukkumi is extremely famous for flying fish roe bokkeum pub, but it's sweeter because there's a long line and it's become more touristy 😭😭
This restaurant is spicy and the octopus is plump, it tastes like the real thing 😭🙏🙏
I definitely want to visit again 🥺

Stop by the new popular area, Seosulla-gil.
Today we will take you to walk around the most popular photo spot in Seosulla-gil, a brick wall that you must check in!
This area is not far from Anguk. The atmosphere is similar, an old town feel, an old house.
This area has many coffee shops, wine bars, and various cafes. There are also shops selling knickknacks. If you go during the autumn foliage season, we think it's very beautiful because the color of the leaves matches the color of the walls perfectly.
If you don't have a list of cafes in mind and pass by this area, you can randomly go in because the shops are super cute. Come and try it out! 💖🫶🏻
⏫ How to get there: Take the subway and get off at Hyehwa Station or Anguk Station. You can walk to both.

🇰🇷Spending time in Myeongdong! Timetable for the first day in Korea
The first day in Korea is often hectic due to flight times and travel, and you end up not doing much...😭💭 That happens to me a lot! ? I've done it a few times too~🥲lol
But it's a special trip, and I don't want to waste even a minute or a second, so I want to enjoy it to the fullest from the first day✊🏻🔥✨
So this time, I'll be able to move around from the first day! I'll be able to enjoy it without any waste! I made such a schedule♡
I set the base to Myeongdong, which has excellent access and has everything you need for shopping and food🫶
You might think of Myeongdong as the ultimate tourist spot, but it's actually full of Korean trends, and you can efficiently visit all the hot cafes, cosmetics, and fashion, so it's really recommended for first-time visitors to Korea😚🌟
If you see this, you'll be thinking, "I can have so much fun from the first day!?"💕
I hope it will be helpful for your trip👏🏻🧳✈️✨

Meals from My Solo Trip to Seoul
As a foodie, I wasn't interested in beauty or Korean cosmetics. My trip to Korea was all about eating, eating, and eating! 🇰🇷
Restaurants that are easy for Japanese tourists to visit (based on my personal observations and opinions):
● Yeoncheon Yeonhwa, Cheongdam
Japanese menu available
🇯🇵 70% Japanese customers
I started going here because my favorite celebrity's autograph was displayed, and now I visit every time I travel to Korea. It's open 24 hours, and I've even taken a taxi late at night just to eat there! I've ordered just the yukhoe (Korean raw beef) without the bibimbap before.
● Original Masan Halmae Agujjim, Sinsa
Japanese menu available
🇯🇵 50%
Ever since I was told their ganjang gejang (soy-marinated crab) is delicious, I make it a point to visit every time I come to Korea. 🦀 Without eating this, my trip to Korea feels incomplete.
Restaurants with fewer Japanese customers and my first-time visits:
● Cheonapo Bossam
No Japanese menu?
🇯🇵 About 20%
There were two other groups besides me. The meat was tender and very delicious! The side dishes were also great.
● Jojo Kalguksu, City Hall Branch
Japanese menu available
🇯🇵 About 30%
The restaurant is spacious, so it feels like there are quite a few Japanese customers. There were 3-4 other groups besides me. The menu only has three items, so it's easy to choose. It was my first time trying kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). The saltiness was just right, but my face was puffy the next morning. 🤣 I also wanted to try their jeon (Korean pancake)...
● Neundong Minari, Sinryeongsan Branch
No Japanese menu?
🇯🇵 Less than 10%
It felt like I was the only Japanese person there. I didn't hear any Japanese being spoken. The food was incredibly delicious. The prices weren't too high, and I've decided to go back again!
Exploring Yeonnam-dong in Seoul, South Korea
I visited Yeonnam-dong, one of the most popular areas in Seoul, South Korea! This neighborhood is perfect for a café-hopping adventure. 💕
I stopped by a café with a white-themed interior, and the decor and small items were absolutely adorable. 🥰 The terrace seating was charming, and the flowers at the entrance added a lovely touch. 💐
The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. ✨
