Wuhan Plum Garden: The World Plum Blossom Research Center
Wuhan Plum Garden (full name Wuhan East Lake Plum Garden) is one of the four major plum gardens in China and a famous plum blossom viewing spot in the country. It is located in the East Lake Ecotourism Scenic Area in Wuhan. It is also the location of the China Plum Blossom Research Center. The garden covers an area of more than 800 mu and has more than 20,000 plum trees, covering more than 340 varieties, including many rare ancient plum trees, such as palace pink plum, vermilion plum, green calyx plum, jade butterfly plum, and dragon plum, as well as rare varieties such as "money green calyx" and "yellow plum." There are more than 200 ancient plum trees and ancient plum stumps over 100 years old in the garden, and the oldest plum tree is more than 800 years old. The garden has a plum culture museum, which displays the history of plum blossoms, poetry, calligraphy and painting, and the cultural origins of plum blossoms and Wuhan. The garden is located by the mountains and water, close to East Lake, and together with the Cherry Blossom Garden and Lotus Garden, it forms the East Lake Four Seasons Flower Sea landscape. Miaoxiang Country: The core plum blossom viewing area, with a large area of plum forest and a faint fragrance, is suitable for taking photos. Lengyan Pavilion: A landmark building in the garden, where you can overlook the panoramic view of the plum garden and the mountains and water of East Lake. Plum Art Bonsai Garden: Displays the art of plum bonsai, reflecting the garden aesthetics of "shrinking the dragon into inches." Plum Blossom Festival: Held every year during the plum blossom season, the event includes a plum blossom-themed photography exhibition, a Hanfu garden party, and intangible cultural heritage handicraft experience. It is known as the "World Plum Blossom Culture Research Center" by the International Plum Blossom Association.
