Visit Faxi Temple
📍 Xihu District, Hangzhou, China
✨ Faxi Temple is an old Buddhist temple on the quiet Tianzhu Hill, full of the charm of an ancient Chinese temple. It is located not far from Lingyin Temple, but there are relatively few people. It is suitable for a leisurely walk and meditation amidst nature.
✨ Inside the temple, there are traditional Chinese buildings lined up along the height of the hill. There are various shrines, pagodas, temples, and the main hall enshrining many Buddha statues. The architecture emphasizes yellow and red tones with intricate patterns.
✨ The point that many people like is the view from above, looking down on the temple's roofs, with a backdrop of green trees. Especially in spring, when the magnolia trees bloom, it will add even more beauty to this temple.
✨ The overall atmosphere is peaceful and shady, suitable for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or are looking for a place to calm their minds. This temple also has an area for lighting incense sticks to pray and make wishes, and there are soft chanting from monks in the temple.
✨ It is not difficult to walk around the temple. It takes about 1–2 hours. Those who like to take pictures or are into the spiritual path will probably be impressed by both the atmosphere and the sacredness of this place.

Tea Trails and Temple Tranquility: My Hangzhou Discovery
Despite the persistent cold, Hangzhou has completely charmed me. Maybe it's the refreshing bite in the air, or the welcoming comfort of my lodging; either way, today surpassed all expectations as the rain finally eased. The Longjing Tea Museum was a delightful surprise, a treasure trove of tea knowledge, both local and international. It's truly a must-see. A short walk brought me to Longjing Village, where I embarked on a stunning hike through the terraced tea fields leading to 法喜寺 (Faxi Temple). A simple, yet satisfying, ¥5 lunch fueled me for a contemplative walk around the temple, a moment of gratitude and reflection. The serene tranquility of Qinghe Street 清河坊 and Southern Song Imperial Street 南宋御街, followed by the lively buzz of Hefang Street 河坊街, provided a perfect contrast, capping off a wonderful day.
