Shangchuan Island, the stunningly beautiful and lesser-known island you don't know about
Recommend a super awesome lesser-known island in Guangdong🏝—Shangchuan Island
A 2-hour self-drive from Guangzhou can get you there
Spent two days as an islander of Shangchuan
Climbed mountains and went to the sea, ate seafood and even caught some by the sea
Still not satisfied when coming back, only regretting that the time was too short
The lesser-known island here🏝 is really fun
Admission🎫: The ticket price is 168, it is best to buy a package ticket (including round-trip ferry tickets and Feisha Beach admission) a few days in advance during the peak season.
How to get there🚘: Self-drive to Jiangmen Taishan-Shanzui Port, park your car at the port parking lot (60 yuan per day), take the scenic ferry to Shangchuan Island Sanzhou Wharf, the ferry takes 30 minutes, then transfer to a bus to Feisha Beach. It can be quite a hassle to switch transportation, so try to travel light. Be cautious about shipping your car to the island, not only does it cost 600 yuan back and forth, but it also wastes time.
Where to stay🏠: For convenience, you can stay in the Feisha Beach area, where there are many seaside hotels and homestays, but the decoration feels very simple. The price is also expensive, probably because of the summer vacation, the sea view room I stayed in cost six hundred a night, it should be cheaper in the off-season.
Where to eat🍚: There are many seafood stalls on the island, the prices are fairly reasonable, but the taste varies. Stayed for two days, ate at three seafood stalls, the one on the far right, Haitian Yise, was the tastiest and most crowded.
Car rental🚕: There is no public transportation on the island, it is best to rent a car in advance, there are several car rental companies to the left as soon as you exit Sanzhou Wharf, with two-seater and four-seater electric cars, 300~350 yuan per day. There are also Niu electric bikes, but motorcycles require a driver's license to rent.
Recommended photo spots📸:
1️⃣ Feisha Beach: A long beach that stretches two to three kilometers🏖️, with soft sand that is relatively clean. You can swim🏊🏻, play in the sand, ride on water jet boats🚤, parasail🪂, and drive beach buggies for free, and at night you can catch small fish🐟 and sand crabs🦀. Watch the sunrise🌅 from the hotel rooftop in the morning.
2️⃣ Windmill Hill🪂: A must-visit spot, truly stunning and perfect for photos. I didn't go up to the highest No. 75 windmill, only to the No. 70 windmill viewing platform. Cars can only go up to the bottom of No. 70 windmill, and you need to take a local motorcycle to go further up, 20 yuan per person.
3️⃣ Wangyu Stone: There is a pathway that leads directly to the seaside viewing platform, which is particularly good for taking pictures, and the red rocks on the cliffside by the sea are also very special.
4️⃣ Shadi Fishing Port: The fishing port that can be seen from Windmill Hill, didn't have enough time to go there for a visit, which is a regret of this trip.
5️⃣ Other spots I didn't have time to visit: The most beautiful scenery is on the road, Shangchuan Island is quite large, and there are many places worth exploring in depth, waiting for everyone to discover.
