Hanshan Temple was first built during the Tianjian period of the Southern Liang Dynasty. During the Zhide period of the Tang Dynasty, the poet Zhang Ji passed by Hanshan Temple and wrote the famous poem "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge," which made Hanshan Temple famous. The main attractions in Hanshan Temple include the Mahavira Hall, Sutra Library, Bell Tower, Stele Gallery, and Fengjiang Tower. The main scenery is collectively known as the Twelve Scenic Spots. On this trip to Suzhou, I saw the Hanshan Temple and Maple Bridge from the famous poem with my own eyes. The water under the Maple Bridge is gentle, and the ancient temple is solemn and dignified. It was worth the trip. 👍

🚗 Yizhi Garden is a garden attraction located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. It was originally the residence of Duan Yucai in Fengqiao. Duan Yucai was a well-known philologist and Confucian scholar in the Qing Dynasty. He completed many literary works in the Jingyun Building in the garden, the most famous of which is "Shuowen Jiezi Zhu," an important reference book for philology. 🚗 Yizhi Garden is built with lake stones and small ponds, featuring the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens. The main building in the garden is Jiangfeng Caotang, with a plaque inscribed with Wen Zhengming's calligraphy. The garden also has a study called "Hanxueju," named after Duan Yucai's old study, furnished with Ming Dynasty study furniture, including a painting table, a chair, a bookcase, a flat-head table, and a long table, showcasing the smooth lines and simple style of Ming Dynasty furniture. In fact, Maple Bridge is just a common single-hole stone bridge in the south of the Yangtze River, and the east bank of the bridge extends into the Tieling Pass. The Tieling Pass, which is extended by the Maple Bridge, carries hundreds of years of vicissitudes of history. Suzhou has always been known as "six gates, three passes, and five drum towers". Tieling Pass is one of the three passes. Because it was built to resist the Japanese, it is also called Maple Bridge Enemy Tower. Historical records show that during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the Japanese pirates entered the estuary from Taicang and invaded Suzhou, burning, killing, and looting in Changmen and Maple Bridge. The local government then built this pass tower, "The square is 13 feet wide, 3 feet 6 inches high, and the base is not made of stone.
