Langley, BC, is a delightful blend of rustic charm and vibrant community life. Nestled just east of Metro Vancouver, it offers a refreshing escape from the city buzz, with wide-open spaces, historic sites, and plenty of outdoor adventures.
One of my favorite spots is the Fort Langley National Historic Site, a beautifully preserved Hudson’s Bay Company trading post that takes you back to Canada’s early days. Walking through the old buildings and chatting with costumed interpreters made history come alive. Nearby, the quaint village offers charming shops, cozy cafés, and local artisans showcasing their crafts.
For nature lovers, Langley is a paradise. The Derby Reach Regional Park along the Fraser River is perfect for hiking, cycling, and picnicking, with scenic views and peaceful trails. The Greater Vancouver Zoo nearby is a great family-friendly stop with a variety of animals and engaging exhibits.
Langley also boasts a lively agricultural scene. Visiting local farms and markets, especially during the harvest season, gives you a taste of fresh, local produce and a chance to meet friendly farmers.
