I regret not coming to Africa sooner | The Great Migration is spectacular!
| The Great Migration is spectacular! 🦒 I just returned from Tanzania, and this trip to the savannah was truly soul-stirring! 🌅 The few days of rest on Zanzibar Island were the icing on the cake. I couldn't wait to organize a practical guide after returning, so don't miss it if you're planning to go! 👇
📝【Preparation Before Departure】
1⃣ Visa: I recommend an e-visa. Print the visa and return ticket in advance (visa on arrival is still possible, but e-visa is faster) 🛂
2⃣ Vaccines & Health: Yellow fever vaccine proof is not required, but it's recommended to have official proof. Bring malaria medication based on your own situation 💉
3⃣ Currency: Tanzanian shillings and US dollars are both accepted (try to prepare new US dollars, and small US dollars for tips) 💵 Prepare Visa and UnionPay cards
4⃣ Clothing: Lightweight long-sleeved shirts and pants for sun and mosquito protection, windproof jacket for morning and evening, comfortable shoes 👟 Choose earth tones and avoid black and white (they attract mosquitoes)
5⃣ Essentials: Sunscreen, mosquito repellent, high-capacity power bank, binoculars, wet wipes, small flashlight, camera (telephoto lens is a must) 📸
6⃣ Mental Preparation: Join a tour group, the itinerary is tight, and be prepared for early mornings and long car rides 🚗
🏞【Attraction Recommendations】
1⃣ Serengeti National Park: A must-visit for safari, best from July to October, you can see wildebeest crossing the river in northern Serengeti, and experience hot air balloon rides 🌄
2⃣ Ngorongoro Crater: An awe-inspiring ecosystem, you might see rare black rhinos 🦏
3⃣ Tarangire National Park: A paradise for elephants, with unique baobab trees 🌳
4⃣ Lake Manyara: A gathering place for flamingos, with stunning lake views for photos 🔥
5⃣ Zanzibar Island: After the savannah tour, spend a few days on the island, chasing dolphins and snorkeling 🏝
💖【Real Experience】
Joining a tour group is very worry-free, no need to worry about transportation, tickets, and accommodation. The guide is familiar with animal habits and helps capture the best shots 📷 Seeing large numbers of wild animals in the Serengeti and the wild scenes in Ngorongoro Crater up close was so moving that I was in tears 😭
For friends who love African natural scenery, Tanzania is definitely worth adding to your bucket list! 🌍
Our assigned guide was extremely gentle and polite, always smiling, with excellent eyesight, always finding the best spots to see animals, and we even caught the Great Migration 🦓
The only regret is not knowing how to handle long lenses, afraid of wasting time and finding them heavy, so I didn't bring them. The guide said what you see with your eyes is better than high-definition records 👀
