"Easy Climbing Series" Tai O Tiger Mountain Half an Hour Overlooking the Sunset
#爬山 For this hike, I recommend Tiger Mountain in Tai O.
💞Recommendation reason:
Tiger Mountain is dozens of meters high and very easy to climb to the top, but it has a magnificent sea view and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and is also a great place to watch the sunset.
🚌Departure route:
The route starts from Tung Chung. I took bus No. 11 and easily arrived at Tai O. Then I went to the Hong Kong Shaolin Martial Arts Cultural Center and walked along the approximately 1.3-kilometer trail.
This trail is simple and easy to follow, with stunning sea views and red trails that are great for checking in, and even novices can complete it easily. 💯💯💯
During the climb, in addition to enjoying the scenery along the way, you can also see the planes slowly taking off and landing from the airport. This unique landscape is one of a kind. 📸🔥
After reaching the top, you can enjoy the sea view while waiting for the sun to slowly set, and then enjoy the beautiful sunset. There is a red railing extending a hundred meters next to the Hushan Observation Deck, which is a popular check-in spot. 🩷
❕Tips:
Before heading to Tiger Mountain, you can first climb the stairs on the left side of the Shaolin Wushu Cultural Center. The initial section of the trail will be slightly shaded by trees, and after about 10 to 15 minutes of walking, you will reach well-paved steps. When you see the red railing, it means you are close to the top and almost reaching the summit!

Climb up Tiger Hill in Tai O. Enjoy the stunning sunset 🌅
I have been to Tai O so many times, but this is my first time to climb Tiger Hill!
We started to prepare to climb Tiger Hill at about 4:30pm and enjoy the sunset at the Tiger Hill Observation Deck! The weather was great that day, with clear skies, so the chances of seeing a salted egg yolk sunset were high!
Follow the signs to the canteen of Shaolin Martial Arts Culture Center. Starting from here, there is a road next to it that leads to the Tiger Mountain Observation Deck. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the canteen of Shaolin Martial Arts Culture Center to the stairs leading to Tiger Mountain!
Climb up the red fence stairs on the mountain trail and you will soon see the Chinese White Dolphin Statue. From the statue you can already see the beautiful salted egg yolk sunset!
We walked along the red fence, admiring the sunset while looking for the best place to take a photo with the salted egg yolk sunset. We didn’t have to walk too far, just the right distance to watch the sunset. Another day was about to pass!
It was very lively at the elevation column of Tiger Mountain, 75 meters above sea level, with many people watching the sunset there. It became particularly quiet after sunset!
Personally, I find watching the sunset very healing. It’s like summing up the end of the day, and I feel like I can have a good rest!
After watching the sunset, we returned the same way. The sunset that day was quite charming, and there was a new moon to accompany it!

I found a hidden hiking trail to the sea in Hong Kong!
I found a hidden hiking trail to the sea in Hong Kong!
:Tai O Lantau Island
Take bus route 11 from Tung Chung Station Exit B to Tai O!
Don't miss Tai O, a small fishing village in Hong Kong, when you visit. It's not crowded with tourists, and there's a mountain known as the 'Hong Kong version of Jeju Island' with a challenging hike.
Here you can capture the trail leading to the sky and the sea with a '180-degree unobstructed sea view', and in the distance, you can see the Hong Kong International Airport and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge!
To get here, just navigate to 'Tai O Lantau Island Viewing Platform'. Take bus route 11 from Tung Chung Station Exit B to Tai O, then walk along the small path next to the Shaolin Martial Arts Center for about fifteen minutes to reach the mountain!
About the shoot
-In the distance is the Hong Kong International Airport, where planes pass by from time to time, remember to take a photo together! (as shown in the picture)
Surrounded by the sea on all sides, the trail offers a 180-degree unobstructed sea view leading to the sea and the sky!
