Not in New Zealand! In Dali! Basking in the sun by the lake is so healing.
Every time I go to Erhai Lake to bask in the sun, daydream, and cycle, I always have a sense of being in Wanaka, New Zealand.
When the weather is good, Erhai Lake is incredibly blue, and the sunlight shining on the lake and Cangshan Mountain is truly stunning. Moreover, sunset here is quite late, and as the sun begins to set in the evening, the colors of the sky and Erhai Lake become so soft, presenting a different kind of beauty.
I love sitting by the lake, daydreaming and basking in the sun, away from the hustle and bustle of the city crowds. But a reminder, you still need to go to a less crowded part of Erhai Lake, otherwise, you'll hear the background music of "Grilled sausage, grilled milk fan, 5 yuan a piece," hahaha😂
Cycling along Erhai Lake is my favorite way to experience it, as it allows me to discover many hidden gems.
🍃Xiajiyi: It's a quick ride from Caicun, but it's much less crowded than Caicun. It also has a beautiful S-bend and a large lawn where you can sit on the rocks by the shore. I often go there for picnics and relaxation.
🌼Fumeiyi: There's a small sandy beach, perfect for taking photos, and a "lonely tree" similar to the one in Wanaka, albeit a mini version.🌲 I recommend going at noon when the sunlight is just right. I saw someone bring a hammock and hang it between two redwood trees – super relaxing!
✨Gushengcun: The most beautiful kilometer of Erhai Lake is there. It's quiet, beautiful, and less crowded. It's my favorite spot when cycling. In spring, the shores of Erhai Lake are covered with flowers of different colors, and I couldn't help but take lots of photos! Super beautiful!
By the lake, it feels like the whole world slows down, and all I want to do is waste time doing nothing. The sunlight sprinkles on the lake, making the whole world sparkle.
