[2025 Kyoto Attraction] Travel Guide for Fushimi Inari Taisha (Updated Jul)

Lovely and crowded temple. There's a 4 km hike to the mountain top of you like to be adventurous. Not too rigorous, yet June is a bit warm and humid, which makes it challenging. Otherwise, beautiful structures to view. In the immediate area, there's some food vendors. Actually quite good. Most food was about 600 yen to 1,000 yen. There was an excellent ice cream place we enjoyed. Taking the train from Kyoto station requires switching to two train lines. Not difficult either. Plus you'll see many young women and some young men dressed in traditional clothing. Very lovely.

If you’re in Kyoto, this is a must-visit spot 📍 Went there around 4pm and it was such a nice walk through the red torii gates⛩️ super iconic Kyoto vibe. It wasn’t too crowded by that time, which made it more chill to explore. Didn’t go all the way to the top, but still enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The low temperature of about 5 degrees in the early morning couldn’t suppress the urge to go out for a walk. I set out from Kyoto Station just after dawn and took the JR Nara Line to arrive in less than 10 minutes. As expected, there are few people around at this time, so you can enjoy the quiet Torii tunnel all to yourself. Of course, in the end, a passerby passed by and I was able to take a photo with the Thousand Torii Gates successfully! ⛩️Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari Shrines across Japan. I discovered a way to take incredible photos even during busy hours. The first section is the junction of the uphill and downhill routes. The left side is the downhill route. It can be said that there are not many people, and the Torii gates are super dense and you can take pictures easily. The disadvantage is that the Torii gates here are relatively short. The outskirts of Wuju, this is what I saw shared by netizens! Wuju is a sloping mountain road. There is a small uphill section at the beginning of the second section.
