On this self-drive trip, we traveled from Fukuoka to Yufuin, enjoying the beautiful natural scenery along the way. The roads were not crowded, making the drive very comfortable. However, traveling with children can be challenging due to the long distances, so it's best to plan a stop at an attraction to stretch and take a break. That's why we included a visit to the Kuju Natural Zoological Park midway. The zoo is easy to find, and the animals are mostly free-roaming in their natural habitats, not confined to cages. The best way to tour is by vehicle. You can either take the park's sightseeing bus to view and feed the animals or drive your own car through the park, but you must keep the windows closed. We chose the latter, so we'll have to wait until next time to see the lions and tigers up close. The park wasn't too crowded when we visited, so even with self-driving, there was no traffic congestion. After seeing the savannah animals, you can also visit the indoor salon to pet dogs or cats, and for an additional fee, feed the ponies. These activities are separate from the car tour but offer a full experience, and the kids had a lot of fun. Petting the cats is not highly recommended, as they were mostly sleeping, and we didn't want to disturb them; it's better to just watch from a distance. Highlights: Usa Shrine is located at the base of the Kunisaki Peninsula. #newyearnewtrip Wish to visit a wildlife animal safari but Africa is too far for you? Well, fret not, because in japan Beppu region, one can visit the Kyushu wildlife Park African Safari. You can choose to drive in the safari using your own car or choose to sit the park's safari bus. These jungle buses would cost slightly more as you are able to feed the safari animals from the bus. If you're driving your own car, then it's not possible to do so, as car windows are to be closed at all times. I drove into the safari on my own and it was an exhilarating experience as you see animals come close or beside your vehicle. It is just unbelievable. There are safari personnels patrolling the area so you dont have to feel scared and they are there to help in case of any accidents. You get to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, deers, and so many more animals, as they roam free in a non enclosed area. This is a one of a kind safari experience not to be forgotten!

The wide variety of baked goods were incredibly delicious! The interior is very stylish and comfortable, and I ended up staying longer than I planned! I was surprised to find that almost two hours had passed! The signature menu items, the Prince on a White Horse cheesecake and the Mofuratte, a drink that recreates the foam mustache you get when drinking butterbeer, were absolutely wonderful.

If you are going on a Fukuoka rental car trip, Beppu African Safari is a zoo that is so satisfying that I would say you should visit it as a must-visit course. The largest safari in Asia Beppu African Safari is a tourist attraction that I would definitely recommend if you are going on a Fukuoka rental car trip. Also, if you pay the entrance fee once, you can go unlimited times when using a rental car. If you regret seeing it once, I highly recommend seeing it twice! They said that July is the rainy season in Japan, but I was happy because the weather was fantastic throughout my Beppu trip with the weather fairy. If you are looking for a place to visit while traveling in Fukuoka with a rental car, I recommend African Safari without hesitation. :) ⏰Business hours information From March 1 to October 31, it is open from 9:00 to 16:00. Kyushu Natural Zoo is full of surprises. You can drive in to see all kinds of African wild animals, or you can pay extra to take the tour bus. This tour bus is basically a must, because food is provided to feed lions and other African animals, but the daily supply is limited, so you need to arrive early to queue up!

It was a great half day experience there. We were given a tray of animals food to feed them including for kind ones like reindeers and fierce ones like bears and lions. Other than the safari tour, there are separate areas for patting puppies etc with a small charge. Definitely recommend it for family with kids though the bus to there took nearly 45 min. #2024wish
