A mixed bathing hot spring hotel hidden in the mountains for 200 years.
As the first stop of this hot spring maple viewing trip, Daimaru Hotel really gave me a big surprise.
As a member of the Secret Hot Spring Association, the necessary conditions of being far enough, remote enough, and niche enough were met. All the way up the mountain there was a strong smell of sulfur, and I actually quite liked the smell and it was quite intoxicating.
② Let’s talk about hot springs first. There are a total of 9 hot springs, including 3 indoor ones (one for men and one for women), 3 open-air hot springs for women, and 3 mixed bathing hot springs (also the three largest hot springs). The spring is a pure sulfur spring (hydrogen sulfide type), which contains a large amount of methylsilicic acid. It is a beauty bath that makes your skin smooth after bathing.
As for mixed bathing, although it has a 200-year history, there are special yukatas for mixed bathing now, so there is no need to worry about embarrassment.
As for the food, it exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect that they could offer free wagyu beef here, with each person getting such a large portion of black wagyu beef. The breakfast is also delicious, especially the grilled fish and rice balls.
⑤Room: We booked a king-size room in the annex. The room was clean and tidy, but a little smaller than expected. However, outside the window was a river with hot springs flowing. I fell asleep listening to the white noise all night long, and I slept so well that night. As soon as I open the window in the morning, I can see the sunrise. The hot steam from the river outside the window is so refreshing. A new day has begun.
