At the end of "Victory Street," a bridge spans the sea, the famous "Galata Bridge" in Istanbul, which spans the Eurasian continent. Walking on the bridge, you can see the world-famous "Hagia Sophia" in the distance. It was once the main church of the Byzantine Empire, with a history of nearly 1,500 years, and is famous for its huge dome. In 532 AD, the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I ordered its construction, designed by physicists and mathematicians, and after 1453 it was occupied by the Turks and converted into a mosque. It was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1985. It is a great experience to walk into this magnificent thousand-year-old monument and feel the glory of European history! Not far from the Hagia Sophia is the legendary "Basilica Cistern." Walking down to the cistern, there are nearly 300 Roman columns. The entire underground of the palace is a pool, and visitors walk along the boardwalk. The most famous feature of the eerie cistern is the two huge columns with the heads of Medusa underneath. Legend has it that the snake-haired Medusa was imprisoned here, and anyone who looked at her would turn to stone, and was eventually suppressed under the huge columns. Coming out of the cistern, the Byzantine-style dome of the "Blue Mosque" comes into view. It is named after the blue and white tiles that decorate the walls of the mosque. It is the most important landmark in Istanbul and one of the top ten wonders of the world. After the prayer, the mosque is open to visitors for free, and the staff at the entrance saw our Chinese faces and took the initiative to bring headscarves for our female companions and helped them put them on, which was very warm and friendly. Shopping is undoubtedly a female trait, and Turkey's "Grand Bazaar" is no exception, as it is said to be the largest trading market in Turkey, with a wide variety of goods. After a long walk, my stomach started to protest. Suddenly I realized that this was our last dinner in Turkey, and we were going back home tomorrow, which made me a little sad.
