Yuanxing Temple, also known as Jilefang, is a temple located in Nara City and one of the seven major temples in the southern capital. It was established in the sixth century AD by Suga Mazi, a minister of Japan's Asuka (originally known as Faxing Temple). In the eighth century AD, there was a five-story pagoda, which was destroyed in a fire in 1859 after a thousand years of wind and frost. Gokurakbo in Chuin-cho was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1999 as part of the cultural properties of the ancient capital of Nara.
