Masuya ますや 📍 Address: 966-8 Mori, Gero, Gifu 509-2202, Japan The main reason for visiting Gero this time was to experience the Masuya Onsen. Gero is one of Japan's top three hot spring towns, and among them, Masuya, which features an outdoor open-air bath, ranks as the number one Gero Onsen ryokan. Masuya is a small, family-run ryokan in Gero. What I loved most about Masuya was that you can choose your yukata upon check-in.

📌 Outdoor Hinoki Open-Air Bath 🥹 The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, and the water is hot. The bath is spacious enough for two people to enjoy comfortably. 📌 Masuya Ryokan Kaiseki Breakfast You can choose breakfast times at 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 8:30 AM. The breakfast area is clean and divided into sections. The meal is a beautifully arranged set featuring noodles, rice, fish, seaweed, bulgogi, salad, and more. #Overseas travel The guest room is a tatami room with a traditional Japanese feel, and a slightly thick mattress yoga is laid out. A bathroom, shower room, bathtub, and sink are all provided in the room. Yukata outerwear is in the closet! Welcome drinks and welcome snacks are also prepared on the table. Masuya offers both public baths and private baths. The private outdoor hot spring bath can be reserved for 30 minutes and is suitable for mixed-gender use, making it ideal as a family bath. Since the private bath does not have shower facilities, you need to wash up in the public bath or your room beforehand. Be sure to bring towels provided in your room! Although it’s not a large bathhouse like those in Nagoya, it’s not a crowded ryokan, so I was able to enjoy the baths exclusively in the morning and evening. The public bath is available until 9 AM.
