Venice Beach, a gathering place for hip people in LA🌴
If Santa Monica is a hot spot for tourists, Venice Beach is a hot spot for locals. Since you can get to Venice in about 20 minutes from Santa Monica Pier, it would be nice to walk to both places, or you can rent a bike and ride it since there is a bike path.🚲

Situated in a converted parking lot, De Buena Planta manages to turn what was once asphalt into a cheerful, Tulum vacation-like atmosphere worthy of a date or much-awaited catchup with old friends. If you've played that game 5, you must visit Los Angeles (Los Santos)
California's "Giant Trees & Coastal Vibes" 4-Day In-Depth Guide 🌲🌊
Fans of that game 5 absolutely need to experience the primal awe of Sequoia National Park + the artistic fireworks of Venice Beach
📌 Must-Know Before You Go
• Transportation: Rent a car at LAX (SUV recommended for park roads) for maximum flexibility.
• Best season: Spring/Fall (cool redwood forests, comfortable beaches); Summer (redwoods for shade, beaches can be hot).
• Gear: Hiking shoes (for sequoias), sun protection, wide-angle lens (perfect for giant trees and sunsets), colorful outfits for graffiti wall photos (bright colors pop!).
🚗 Day 1: Urban Escape → First Encounter with the Redwoods
Morning: Pick up your car in LA and drive along Highway 198 to Sequoia National Park (~3.5 hours).
Afternoon: Forest immersion
• 📍 Tunnel Log: Drive through a millennia-old sequoia’s hollow trunk—pure magic! (Check vehicle height; SUVs fit easily.)
• 📍 Congress Trail: A 1.5 km loop to meet the "Senate" and "House" trees, with canopies so dense they block the sky.
• 📍 Giant Forest Museum (Pic 4): Learn about 2,000+-year-old sequoias, grab a wooden souvenir.
Stay: Wuksachi Lodge (rustic cabins, lulled by pine winds) or budget-friendly Three Rivers B&Bs.
Eat: Lodge burgers + wildberry smoothies—forest flavors!
🚶 Day 2: Redwood Pilgrimage → Return to the City
Morning: Worship the "King of Trees"
• 📍 General Sherman Tree: Earth’s largest tree by volume! Walk its base—taller than skyscrapers (easy 1.6 km round trip).
• 📍 Moro Rock: Climb 350 steps for 360° views of green "oceans" and distant Sierra peaks (golden hour = unreal).
Afternoon: Drive back to LA, stop in Visalia for farm-fresh salads (avocado, grilled corn, smoked chicken). Check into Venice Beach hotels (e.g., The Kinney—5 mins to sand, ultra-chic).
🎨 Day 3: Venice Beach’s Art Frenzy
Morning: Street art crawl
• 📍 Venice Art Walls: Ever-changing graffiti murals + live artists at work (Pink sunset + graffiti = iconic shots).
• 📍 Muscle Beach: Watch (or join!) fitness buffs on vintage equipment—pure Cali energy.
Afternoon: Beachside chill
• 📍 Venice Beach stroll: From murals to waves, nap on sunset-lit grass (bring a book, totally unwind).
Evening: Food & vibes
• 🍝 Giorgio’s Italian Food: Seaside pasta + street performances (Jazz nights Wed/Sat).
• 🌌 Abbot Kinney Blvd: Boutiques, bookshops, cocktails—LA nightlife distilled.
🌅 Day 4: Coastal Serenity + Departure
Morning: Hidden gems
• 📍 Venice Canals: Pastel houses + arched bridges feel like Europe (go early for soft light).
• OR Santa Monica Pier: Ferris wheel ocean views + fish & chips.
Afternoon: Souvenirs & goodbyes
• 🛍️ Third Street Promenade: Trendy shops + rainbow gelato, grab Cali-themed gifts (avocado spice kits!).
• ✈️ Return: Drop off the car (allow 1.5 hrs—LA traffic is *unpredictable*).
💡 Pro Tips
1. Sequoia secret: Sunset at Crescent Meadow = "enchanted forest" glow.
2. Venice hack: Art Walls are free, but park at Venice Beach Lot ($10/day, 5-min walk).
3. Safety: No signal in sequoias—download maps; watch belongings on crowded beaches.
This trip blends ancient forests and beachfront creativity—California’s wild and cool sides, all yours! 🚙✨

A Day in LA: From the Hollywood Sign to Venice Beach, In-N-Out, and UCLA
A day in Los Angeles was filled with iconic sights, local flavors, and youthful energy.
Hollywood Sign
Early in the morning, I hiked up the trails of Griffith Park to see the Hollywood Sign up close. This iconic landmark was first erected in 1923 and has since become a cultural symbol of Los Angeles.
Venice Beach
Next, I headed to Venice Beach. The 2-mile boardwalk was bustling with street performers, artists, and shops, creating a lively atmosphere. At Muscle Beach, I watched people working out, and at the Venice Art Walls, I admired the diverse graffiti art.
In-N-Out Burger
For lunch, I stopped by the beloved In-N-Out Burger, particularly the Gayley Avenue location near UCLA, which was packed with students and visitors. The Double-Double burger made with fresh ingredients, crispy French fries, and a refreshing shake made for the best meal of the trip.
UCLA Campus
After lunch, I strolled through the UCLA campus. This prestigious university is known for its stunning architecture, expansive lawns, and vibrant atmosphere. Royce Hall and Powell Library, in particular, are iconic buildings that leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Los Angeles: Photographing City, Sea, and Skyline 🌊 🏔️ 📸
I booked a last minute trip to Los Angeles in March and I did not regret it. In America’s second biggest city, the vibe is chill and the weather is pleasant. Featuring an urban core, ocean waves, and rolling mountains, photography lovers will be spoilt for choice here! Here are my favorite photography spots around the city:
1️⃣ Beachwood Drive and Winans Drive
After hiking in the Hollywood Hills, make your way down Beachwood Drive. It’s a picturesque residential neighborhood nestled against the backdrop of the Hollywood Sign.
2️⃣ Mount Hollywood Trail
Start your hike at Griffith Observatory and follow the signs leading to the Mount Hollywood Peak. The views of the city below are spectacular. From here, you can continue hiking toward the Hollywood Sign.
3️⃣ Centennial Street
The wonderful thing about LA is that most tourists never wander to the residential areas! So you’ll get to enjoy views like the one of Downtown LA from Centennial Street without the crowds. Afterwards, walk for about five minutes and you’ll reach Chinatown where you can enjoy some delicious Chinese food!
4️⃣ Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica can get crowded, especially on weekends, but you can’t miss it. Have ice cream, load up on burgers, or go on a few rides at the Pacific Park before walking down the sandy beach towards Venice Beach.
5️⃣ Downtown LA
The Historic Core of Downtown LA is a little bit shabby but it serves up some great photo opportunities. Walk along Broadway and check out some of the cool buildings. End your walk at Grand Central Market with some tasty food and coffee.
6️⃣ Angels Point
Located in Elysian Park, Angels Point is a pleasant breath of fresh air away from the city. Besides the viewpoint, the park is a great place to people watch. Also, if you love baseball, it’s right next to Dodger Stadium!
🏨 Where to stay: STILE Downtown Los Angeles offers affordable rooms in the heart of LA! The rooms are big and they come with a white noise machine!
🥪 Where to Eat:
🍳 Eggslut
🥪 Ghost Sando Shop
☕️ Bastion
🥡 King Buffet

The Walk of Fame and Sunny Beach in Los Angeles
#4月好去地方2025 Los Angeles is synonymous with dreams and entertainment, and it is home to the core of the world's film industry - Hollywood. Walking down the Avenue of Stars, you’ll see countless stars’ names engraved on the sidewalks and feel the glamour and history that movies bring. Visit the Chinese Theatre to enjoy the grand spectacle of movie premieres and see the handprints of many stars. Los Angeles has a pleasant climate, plenty of sunshine, and beaches like Santa Monica and Venice Beach are great places to relax. The amusement park on the Santa Monica Pier was full of joyful atmosphere. I rode the Ferris wheel and overlooked the entire coastline. Venice Beach is alive with street art, skate culture and open-air fitness areas. The city is not only the heart of the entertainment industry, but also a melting pot of diverse cultures.

Venice from LA?
#AustraliaFlightEvent
This is an artificial waterway district located in the Venice area of Los Angeles. It is said that a developer created it in 1905, modeled after Venice, Italy.
It is popular as a quiet walk and photo spot, with pretty houses, small bridges, and walking paths along the narrow waterway. It is also close to Venice Beach, so it is a good place to visit together.

American beach culture: Venice Beach
"Venice Beach" 🌊❤️✨
Venice Beach is a place that reminds me of Los Angeles.
You can feel the atmosphere that you can't feel in Japan, such as buildings, palm trees, and shops along the sea!
Venice Beach has also been the setting for many movies!
There was also Muscle Beach and a skateboard park 🛹
Everyone here enjoyed their time and felt a great sense of "freedom."
I recommend renting a bicycle and sightseeing during the day!
The "Skate Park," a symbol of Venice Beach, is free to enter and anyone can skate there!

LA Style Los Angeles
This is my second time visiting Los Angeles. This time, I visited not only the tourist spots, but also the more local areas such as the downtown area and residential areas. The hotel I stayed at, the Freehand Los Angeles, is a well-equipped hotel with a rooftop bar and a pool. You can stay in a dormitory for about 5,000 yen, or a single room for around 30,000 yen.
Although there are homeless people in downtown, it is not particularly dangerous, and transportation is convenient. The metro costs $1.75 and you can transfer for free within two hours, so you can easily access Santa Monica and Hollywood. The night view from Griffith Observatory is also wonderful, and there are many supermarkets in the city. In particular, Mexican supermarkets are relatively cheap even in the high prices, and it was convenient to get ingredients.
Los Angeles is not as orderly as Japan, but it is a cool city with a mysterious charm. The climate is warm enough that you can wear short sleeves during the day even in winter, and you can enjoy sunbathing at the pool even in February. The Academy Awards are held in March, so it is also recommended to visit at this time. Once you visit, you will want to return. It was such an attractive city that you will want to go back again and again.

Enjoy the free spirit and cultural charm of Venice Beach
#JapanFlightEvent Venice Beach is a beach with a unique charm in LA, where a free atmosphere and various cultures come together. You can enjoy walking or riding a bike along the beach, and there are various street art, murals, and shops, so it's fun to see. You can also see various street performances on the Venice Beach Boardwalk, and you can also see people exercising comfortably. The ocean is right in front, so you can spend time leisurely listening to the sound of the waves, and there are many atmospheric cafes, so it's a good place to rest leisurely. It was a place where you could feel a special atmosphere even on a cloudy day.

#JapanFlightEvent Muscle Beach Street was a really lively and energetic place. Many people were spending their time exercising or stretching, and you could feel their bodies and passion especially when you saw people exercising with muscular bodies. There were various fitness equipment and exercise spaces along the street, so it was a really attractive place for people who like to exercise. It was great to see people exercising with the ocean in the background, and the overall atmosphere was healthy and energetic.

A relaxing atmosphere on Venice Beach on a cloudy day
#JapanFlightEvent When I visited Venice Beach on a slightly cloudy day, the weather made the beach feel more secluded and comfortable. Under the cloudy sky, the sound of the waves could be heard more clearly, and there were fewer people, so I could enjoy the beach leisurely. Even on a cloudy day, the ocean view was still beautiful, and it was a perfect day to take a walk or spend time drinking tea at a cafe. I liked the calmer and more peaceful atmosphere.
