[One night and two meals experience at Kurokawa Onsen Hotel Mononoke]
If you are looking for a hot spring vacation away from the hustle and bustle and immersed in the embrace of nature, Kurokawa Onsen, located at the foot of Mount Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture, is definitely your ideal choice. Among the many hot spring hotels, the Japanese-style "Ryokan Menglong" has become the first choice of many travelers for its meticulous service and warm atmosphere.
Hotel Features
Menglongdan is conveniently located in the first hotel in Kurokawa Onsen. The exterior retains the traditional wooden architecture, while the interior incorporates modern and comfortable design. Most of the guest rooms in the hotel are Japanese-style tatami rooms, and some rooms also have exclusive open-air baths, allowing you to enjoy the hot spring time alone in the room. The hotel is surrounded by lush green mountains and forests. Whether in the morning or at night, the view outside the window is refreshing.
Hot Spring Experience
The hot spring water of Magnum is slightly alkaline, smooth and soft, and has excellent skin care effects. The hotel has large public baths and open-air baths separated by gender. While bathing, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the four seasons. The atmosphere is especially romantic and charming when there is snow in winter or new green in spring.
A delicious feast with two meals per night
When staying at the Magnum Hotel, the most anticipated thing is the exquisite cuisine of two meals per night. Dinner is mainly based on fresh local ingredients, such as Aso red beef, mountain vegetables, and Sichuan fish, which are paired with seasonal fruits and vegetables to present authentic kaiseki cuisine. Every dish is not only delicious but also artistically presented. Breakfast is mainly Japanese set meals, which are nutritionally balanced and will help you greet the new day with full energy.
Intimate service and transportation information
The hotel staff is friendly and attentive. Whether it is helping with luggage, introducing hot spring facilities, or providing travel advice, it makes people feel at home. In addition to Mandarin-speaking staff, there are also Cantonese-speaking and English-speaking staff. Basically, there is no need to worry about language problems leading to misunderstandings. There are many walking trails in the Kurokawa Onsen area, so it is recommended to drive or take a bus. The hotel can also assist in booking shuttle services.
Tips
Kurokawa Onsen Street connects the hotels, but be careful as Kurokawa Onsen becomes deserted after dark. Most shops will close around 6pm (in winter, the sun sets earlier and it will be basically dark). If you want to buy souvenirs or go shopping, you have to go early or the shops will open after 9am the next morning. The Kurokawa Onsen area has four distinct seasons, so it is recommended that you prepare appropriate clothing according to the season. There are mostly cobblestone paths and stairs inside and outside the hotel, so it is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes. If you have special dietary needs, we recommend you inform the hotel in advance.

If you go to Kurokawa Onsen from Aso, you will pass the Kowloon Dream Suspension Bridge along the way. If you want to explore Fukuoka in depth, you might as well visit it. You will definitely not be disappointed. There are shops around the bridge selling local specialties, which are well worth a visit if you are interested.
Around the Kujung "Dream" Suspension Bridge are the "Thrilling Taki-Otaki" and "Mei-Taki", two of the 100 greatest waterfalls in Japan. The two waterfalls, standing on both sides of the canyon, can be clearly distinguished in summer. The vertical rushing waterfall gives people a domineering feeling, hence the name; the other one is a trickle that looks like a gentle and graceful woman, so it is named Mei-Taki.
The deck of the Kokonoe "Dream" Suspension Bridge is 173 meters above the valley, and the main body of the suspension bridge is 43 meters high on both sides. The bridge deck is supported by super-large steel cables. The total length is 390 meters and the total number of passengers is 1,800. The bridge can be entered from both sides, and the income from the bridge tickets is used as medical subsidies for children in Kokonoe junior high school and below.
