The grand semicircular arches, characteristic of the Renaissance influence, frame the towering columns and create a sense of verticality. Ribbed vaults, remnants of the Gothic tradition, enhance the ceiling’s intricacy, while Baroque embellishments add ornate details, showcasing Spain’s evolving architectural styles. Explore Granada Cathedral On the crowded streets, it is not easy to see the full view of the magnificent cathedral of Granada, which is hidden in the surrounding buildings and can only be glimpsed through narrow and winding alleys. Like many churches in Spain, this church was also rebuilt on the site of a former mosque (it is worth mentioning that this conversion is not uncommon in history, and mosques are often built on the ruins of churches). At first, the church had a Gothic appearance, but after nearly two centuries (1523–1704) of construction, its appearance changed dramatically. Here are some tips if you decide to visit here: 1) book tickets for Alhambra as early as you can 2) unless you are physically quite fit, avoid walking to it from centre ( as the journey is very up-hill). If you have mobility issues, do not walk to the attraction 3) for the palace inside, try to get to Alhambra much earlier than your ticket time as there is a fairly long walk from the Alhambra entrance to the actual palace entrance, its very likely to be late if you have not given yourself plenty of time in advance #Granada #spain #Alhambra
