The Petit Trianon was built by Louis XV for his mistress, Madame de Pompadour, but later became famous for being loved by Marie Antoinette. The natural scenery she loved is widespread, and the pastoral "Queen's Village" is one of the highlights. The rustic scenery contrasts with the luxury of the palace, and is soothing. They have such stunning gardens, space, architecture, and history! The French royalty is very much evident from the exquisite furniture and artworks in each room. A great visit for a weekend sunny day! Beautiful walk from chateau de Versailles (€12 entry to garden), 25-min walk and overall worth it. Itinerary Scheduling: If you are staying in Paris I recommend you to do a day trip to Versailles. You will get lost in the multitude of rooms and palaces and gardens. My recommendation is the Gran Trianon. If you are like me, someone that enjoys the details and not to be on a rush I would recommend you just to go to the Grand Trianon and enjoy the day getting lost in each of the corners of the palace.
