The always cloudy city 🗺️
#uktrip
My trip to Edinburgh was filled with charm and, of course, lots of clouds! ☁️ But honestly, the weather only added to the city's mysterious and romantic atmosphere. Walking down the historic Royal Mile, with its narrow cobblestone streets and ancient buildings, I felt like I was in another era. The iconic Edinburgh Castle loomed over the city, shrouded in mist, and visiting it was an absolute must. 🏰 The entry fee was around £19, and the views from the top, even with the clouds, were spectacular. You can see right across the city to the Firth of Forth!
One of my favorite spots was Holyrood Palace, the Queen’s official residence in Scotland, located at the end of the Royal Mile. The combination of royal history and stunning gardens was a real treat. And don’t miss the Holyrood Abbey ruins – they’re incredibly atmospheric, especially under a brooding sky. 🌫️
I also made time to climb Arthur’s Seat, the extinct volcano just a short hike from the city center. The clouds cleared up just a little, giving me a glimpse of Edinburgh’s skyline, which made the climb worth it! 🏞️ To warm up, I enjoyed some traditional Scottish shortbread and a cup of tea at a local café in Grassmarket, a charming area known for its historic pubs and lively vibe. The weather might have been cloudy, but the spirit of Edinburgh was bright and welcoming. Can't wait to come back! 🌦️ #trip #Edinburgh #MistyMornings #HistoricCharm #Arthur'sSeat #RoyalMile
