[2025 Beijing Attraction] Travel Guide for Great Wall at Huanghuacheng (Updated May)

This part of the great wall is called Huanghuacheng 黄花城 and it's my 3d part of it. I was to Badaling in 2013 (with a tour) and, gosh, it was so crowded (and the tour was expensive). Times change, it's covid era now: less tourists on the Wall in low season (Friday, end of August) still this part was so relaxingly uncrowded. I went on my own by buses (had a lot of time at hand), stayed there for a night (135yuan, less than 1km from the gates) and spent the next day exploring wild parts. Great experience! Enjoyed the nature, not tourist herds😊 In the street leading from the bus stop (H21) to the gate there is quite a variety of food (fruit, nuts, shaokao, Chinese food, not fancy or/and cheap, but still) #greatwall #beijing

The Great Wall of China is a must-see attraction while in Beijing. It is a historical place that makes you feel the power and the history the place has. I visited The Yellow Flower Fortress part of The Great Wall that is located near a lake and a water dumb. The Yellow Flower Fortress is a more quiet and isolated part of The Great Wall with not many tourists. In fact, we were the only ones there at all. Over there you can have a spectacular view of mountains and lakes surrounding this part of The Great Wall. It is quite an experience to be the only one there because The Great Wall is a very famous tourist attraction and is always crowded with people. In Chinese The Yellow Flower fortress part of The Great Wall is called Huanghuacheng and in English it is often called The Water Great Wall. The downside is that it isn’t easy to get here, you’ll need a car 🚗 , a taxi 🚕 or hire a private driver for the day. But this is the reason it’s so peaceful here and you can really enjoy your visit to The Great Wall of China and take in the greatness of this place. This is the easier great wall i have ascended. There is no cable car to ride on. The climb from ground to the Great Wall is easy. What is great about this section is it is over a beauty lake. A portion of the Great Wall has fallen into the lake. You must not miss this portion if you are here.

A friend took us to this awesome entry of the Great Wall… after a couple of minutes of climbing the hill, we finally reached the access of the Wall which gave us the opportunity to enter this beautiful Place. And than we were rewarded by the amazing adventure for that section of the Wall. We spent around 2 Hours at this place until we left to our next stage. The weather offered us an amazing scenery with a wide view along all over the hills around.
