In Shenzhen---countryside, camping, wild is fun!
If there are only two or three groups of tourists, I suggest going after 4 or 5 pm when the sun is not so strong and it will be a little cooler. Metro: Line 6 branch line Zhenmei Station. Or Line 6 Guangming Station. Bus: Guangming Town Happy Garden. It is recommended to take the subway to Dongzhenmei and then transfer to the bus to get there faster. We sat until we got to the light and walked over. It was so sunny and so far away.
A trip to Shenzhen, looking for painted snipes at Guangming Happy Farm. Bird watching time: 2024.06.29. Bird watching location: Guangming Happy Farm, Shenzhen. Transportation route: Nansha-Shenzhen. The original plan was to depart from Qingsheng Railway Station in Nansha to Guangming City Railway Station in Shenzhen early on Saturday morning, and then take a taxi to Guangming Happy Farm. However, I received a yellow high temperature warning and felt the scorching heat in Guangzhou myself. I thought about the original itinerary, which happened to be when the temperature was the highest during the day (I planned to depart from Qingsheng at 8 o'clock and arrive at Shenzhen Guangming City Station in 17 minutes, which is very close). Bird watching at that time would not be active and people would also suffer from heat stroke. So I urgently changed my itinerary and stayed near my destination the night in advance (I could only buy high-speed rail tickets from Guangzhou South to Shenzhen North). The next day, I started my activities before the sun came out, went back to the hotel to rest when it got hot, and then returned to Guangzhou in the afternoon. Get off at Shenzhen North, transfer to Metro Line 6 to Guangming, then transfer to Line 6 Branch Line and ride one stop to the hotel, which is right at the subway entrance, very convenient. Target bird species: Painted Snipe Painted Snipe is a resident bird and can be seen all year round. I followed the route in the bird lovers' bird watching notes and entered from the north gate. This piece of happy countryside is now in a semi-abandoned state. There are not many recreational projects. There is a camping site - Yezhi Camp, but there are almost no people. Bird watching starts from the Wild Campground and walks along the road towards the railway line that crosses the park. In places with small paddy fields, keep an eye out for Painted Snipe, Black-winged Stilt, Golden-rimmed Plover, White Wagtail, Pipit, White-breasted Bittern, Egret, Pond Heron, as well as Chestnut-necked Reed Duck and Yellow-spotted Reed Duck flying. Going further, there are some wastelands, where there are golden-headed fan-shaped reed warblers, red-flowered sparrows, many yellow-bellied mountain warblers, pure-colored mountain warblers, spotted munias, white-rumped munias, spotted doves, and white wagtails. This wasteland has no shade from trees and is quite sunny. After passing the wasteland and heading southwest, you will reach an orchard where you can see black-collared starlings, brown-backed shrikes, red-eared bulbuls, etc. There are chestnut-spotted reed ducks and yellow-spotted reed ducks in the lotus pond in front; there are painted snipes, egrets, pond herons, and red-breasted rails in the surrounding paddy fields, and spotted fish dogs and white-breasted kingfishers in the pond.
