There is also a brother who converted at the door selling his own hand-polished Phoebe zhennan, which is very cost-effective and fragrant. 💚Vegetarian restaurant: The first picture is a very atmospheric vegetarian restaurant next to the temple. You need to make a reservation in advance and only serve lunch. Fengqi Mountain, located in Jiezi Town, Chongzhou, Sichuan, is 63 kilometers away from Chengdu and has an altitude of 1,100 meters. "Guangyan Zen Temple" is commonly known as the ancient temple, which means an ancient temple hidden in the deep mountains. It began in the Jin Dynasty. According to legend, Emperor Wen of Jin granted 36 temples to Qingcheng Mountain, and the ancient temple was the largest one among them. It was originally named "Changle Temple" and Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty bestowed a plaque with the words "Guangda Yanming" on it. It was destroyed during the reign of Emperor Wuzong of the Tang Dynasty, and rebuilt by Monk Shansi in the fifth year of Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty (864 AD). It was renamed "Changle Temple" and had more than 3,000 monks. It was called "Cuiwei Temple" during the Song Dynasty. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, in order to avoid the taboo of the word "乐", King Zhu Chun of Shu requested that the temple be named "Guangyan Zen Temple", commonly known as "the ancient temple". The "Hongwu Nanzang" belonging to the temple is the only copy of the Ming edition. Therefore, he was known as the "No. 1 in Xichuan". In 2008, the Hongwu Nanzang was included in the country's first batch of precious ancient books by the Ministry of Culture, becoming one of the Buddhist historical and cultural heritages that the country focused on rescuing.

On April 3, 2024, we visited Guangyan Zen Temple (also known as "Ancient Temple"), located 260 meters east of Sanjie Road, Chongzhou City, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. According to the "homework" before the trip: the temple was first built in the Jin Dynasty and was originally named "Changle Temple", but was later destroyed. In the fifth year of Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty's Xiantong reign (864 AD), it was rebuilt by Monk Shansi and renamed Changle Temple. It was named Cuiwei Temple in Song Dynasty. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, in order to avoid the taboo of the word "乐", King Zhu Chun of Shu requested that the temple be named "Guangyan Zen Temple", so it is also called Guangyan Temple. In the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi specially inscribed a plaque with the words "Guangyan Zen Temple" for this temple. This is the banner hanging on the gate. Because of its age, the temple is commonly known as the "ancient temple". Drive from Dujiangyan City and turn into the Sichuan West Tourism Highway Chongzhou City 042 Township Road is less than 30 kilometers long and can be reached in just 1 hour. The ancient temple is hidden in an ancient forest, surrounded by towering ancient cypresses, ancient nanmu trees, ancient fir trees, ancient ginkgo trees and other rare trees. The ancient temple deep in the forest exudes a unique solemnity and spirituality. We parked our car at the temple gate (10 yuan/vehicle), and saw the words "Guangyan Zen Temple" personally bestowed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty hanging high on the temple gate (Photo 20). After entering Guangyan Temple (2 yuan/cleaning fee/person), we visited the Main Hall, Randeng Hall, Bhaisajyaguru Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Guanyin Hall... which were built according to the mountain terrain. Afterwards, we felt that the ancient temple not only has a long history, double-eaved pavilions, and is simple and elegant; but also the Zen couplets of Yin Changheng, the Governor of Sichuan of the "Republic of China", and the cursive script of Mr. Yu Youren... all add to the cultural heritage of the ancient temple.

Fengqi Mountain Scenic Area is located in Chongzhou, Sichuan, close to Jie Zi Ancient Town. It is named because the shape of the rocks resembles a phoenix head. Although not as famous as Qingcheng Mountain, there is no entrance fee here. There is a thousand-year-old temple hidden on the mountain - Guangyan Zen Temple, with flying eaves, mottled red walls, towering ancient trees, and abundant negative oxygen ions, making it a paradise for hiking enthusiasts and photographers! I have been to Fengqi Mountain more than 10 times in the past two years, and each time I have gained something different and felt something different. I have walked roughly four routes: 1. Park your car in Jie Zi Ancient Town (parking fee 10 yuan), enter from Kangdao (Figure 6), and walk along the wooden plank road beside the stream. The stream is gurgling, there are clumps of bamboo forests, the air is fresh, and it is especially cool in summer. Walk all the way to Huilongyuan (Figure 9), take a rest at the long pavilion, and then return the same way. This route is relatively flat and has a low degree of difficulty, suitable for all ages. 2. Continue walking up from Huilongyuan. The steps are quite steep and difficult, so it is not recommended for people who are afraid of getting tired. Arriving at Wangguitai, which is more than 900 meters above sea level, walking down is Guangyan Zen Temple. We strolled around the ancient temple and then returned the same way, which was nearly 10 kilometers round trip. This was the farthest we had ever walked. 3. To go to Fengqi Mountain from Jiulonggou, park your car at Zhoujiaping, walk up the mountain along Township Road 042, and walk all the way to the main gate of Fengqi Mountain. The scenery along the way is also very beautiful! On summer nights, you can go to Shuijing Bay to watch fireflies. The advantage of this route is that it is easy to travel, but the disadvantage is that there are more cars traveling on weekends. 4. The easiest way is to drive directly to the main entrance of Fengqi Mountain Scenic Area. You can go up the mountain from Jie Zi Ancient Town or from Jiulonggou 042 Township Road. The parking fee is 10 yuan. There are also shuttle buses to Jie Zi Ancient Town and Jiulonggou at the entrance of the scenic area. The fare is 2 yuan, and there is a bus every half an hour. It takes more than 10 minutes to get down the mountain. There are many farmhouses on the mountain, and the ancient temple offers vegetarian meals for 15 yuan per person at noon. Money can’t buy good air! Every holiday, I want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and go to the mountains to fully enjoy the gifts of nature, get rid of the turbidity and let go of the worries. Fengqi Mountain is such a free natural oxygen bar, worth checking in many times!

When Tang Wuzong was destroyed, Tang Yizong Xiantong five years (AD 864) was reconstructed by the monk and thought, and renamed Changle Temple. In the Song Dynasty, the name Cuiwei Temple.
