The Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum is located on Lingyuan West Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. It covers an area of 2,588 square meters, a construction area of 3,826 square meters, and an exhibition area of 800 square meters.
The Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum was built in 1909. It is the former site of the Guangdong Advisory Council. The main building faces north and south and is modeled after the ancient Roman parliament building. The two-story building is round in front and square in the back. The roof of the hall is hemispherical, with 8 columns arranged in a circle. The space is open, and there are corridors inside and outside the two floors. It is a mixed structure of bricks, wood, and steel beams. It is a classic work that integrates Chinese and Western architectural styles in Guangzhou.
The exhibits in the museum comprehensively reflect Guangzhou's modern revolutionary history from the Opium War to the national liberation. It is a thematic museum with more than 65,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics and documents and more than 25,000 historical photos.
