This is Jiufen, Taiwan's most popular tourist destination!!! The location in the first photo is the building that is said to have been the model for the "Yuya" inn run by Yubaba in Ghibli's Spirited Away!!! I took a one-hour public bus from downtown Taipei, which cost about 350 yen one way! There seemed to be a lot of tours available, but even the cheapest one was about 7,000 yen, so I went by bus!!! Arrive at Jiufen 4 hours before sunset and explore 2. Find a seat at a cafe (Haeyeolu) 2-3 hours before sunset (or reserve a cafe 1 hour before sunset) 3. Eat, drink, take pictures, and play at the cafe 4. Take pictures at the cafe's main entrance when the red lights come on 5. Get out before more people gather late at night 〰️ Successfully enjoying Jiufen leisurely! ✔️Recommend making a reservation! I went as a walk-in because reservations are expensive, but making a reservation is comfortable and you can sit in a pretty seat! Most of the terrace seats on the 1st floor and the window seats on the 2nd floor were reserved. If you make a reservation, adjust the time depending on whether you have a meal or not! ✔️It's hard to get into the cafe during sunset! People flock to the cafe and block people from coming in from the entrance. The front of the cafe is the real hot spot🔥 ✔️The main entrance on the first floor of this cafe is the best spot! It is also the only one in Jiufen that has been certified domestically. They say they sell the same teas that Sanhaibang sells. Sunrise Tea House uses only tea leaves grown in clean areas above 1,000m above sea level and produces products using organic soybeans as fertilizer. The signature teas here are Dongfang Beauty Tea and Black Oolong Tea. Dongfang Beauty Tea is a representative tea in Taiwan, and it is a rare tea type because the cultivation environment is difficult. It is fragrant and has a slightly fruity scent. Black Oolong Tea is similar to Pu-erh Tea and has no caffeine. It is also said to be good for cold hands and feet and constipation. When you visit the store, you can taste all the teas. You can try it out. The staff can speak a little Korean and explained it to me so kindly that I had a pleasant and relaxing time. When you buy tea here, they give you a cute teacup as a free gift.

Went to Jiufen in Taipei, Taiwan. It has such a beautiful scenery. There are many side stalls and alleys to explore. This place mostly sells teas, liquors, or pineapple cakes/pastries. Brace yourself as there is the smell of stinky tofu, I loved it but there are some people who might think it’s smelly. This version of stinky tofu is different from the ones I ate in Singapore and Malaysia. Lastly, I went to JIUFEN tea house for the tea tasting experience. Be aware, there is an admin fee per pax, excluding the price of the tea. I went there with 3 more people, and the price was about NTD2400, which I felt was a little experience #myhiddengems

Hello, this is Zolbin! This time, I brought you a place called Jiufen! This place is famous for being the background of Sen and Chihiro~! It was really really great! The only thing that was disappointing was that it rained?! It would have been even better if the weather was better! Ah! I also went here through a bus tour🫶

When I walk all the way up to the hill, I can get a very clear view of the chiu fen old street. There are many houses cluttered closely with one another. Some of the houses also provide accommodation for visitors, so that you can get a very beautiful view of the sunrise and sunset. The place will become quite dark from evening onwards. After a one hour walk at the chiufen old street, I finally reached the other side of the area. I took the stairs and went all the way up to the top. It was a very tiring journey as the weather was hot, there were multiple stairs, and the place was very crowded. In addition, I was carrying lots of snacks on my hands which makes it more tiring. There are lots of shops on the way up the stairs. There are shops selling souvenirs such as portable fans, key chains, magnets, all with chiufen designs printed on them. There was also a shop selling tea drinks and fish roe where you can mix it with your food to enjoy. One shop that caught my eyes was the musical instruments shop at the chiu fen street. You will be amazed by the wide range of selections there. You can even buy one for your children to blow. All you have to do is to blow through one side of the hole and the sound will be heard clearly. Each musical instrument will have their own unique sound. The price of each is only 65 twd.
