Guanshan Scenic Area is located in the southwest of Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung County. Guanshan was previously called Gaoshanyan. When the sun sets in the west, the sea surface glows with rays of light, which sets off the coral reef landscape and is uniquely desolate and beautiful. Therefore, it is named "Guanshan Sunset" and is listed as one of the "Eight Sceneries of Taiwan" in southern China. Starting from the parking lot at the bottom of the mountain and walking up the scenic trail, you will arrive at the Gaoshanyan Temple on the top of the mountain in about 10 minutes. The temple is enshrined in the land of God, the God of Fude, so it is also called the Palace of Fude. Going up the path on the west side of the temple, there are flying stones formed by coral reefs and Fuling turtles. Fuling turtles are very good at seeking marriage, career and examinations. Many Taiwanese make a special trip north to this place to make a wish. There is a double-storey pavilion next to the temple, which is a good location for Guanshan to watch the sunset. Standing in the middle of the pavilion, you can see the Bashi Strait in the west, and the beautiful scenery of Longbiantan, Nanwan and Eluanbi in the east. The sun sets in the west, and the sunset slowly sinks into the seabed. The sea surface is dyed golden yellow. Instantly softened. The sunset after the sunset is not to be missed. The clouds in the sky change from white to red, from red to purple, and the changes are endless.
