[Gangwon-do] Visit to Taebaek Gumunso!
Address: 498-123 Dongjeom-dong, Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do
Attraction: Gumunso
Taebaek, with an average elevation of over 900m above sea level, is said to be the highest plateau city in Korea!
They say it was forcibly dug by Japan during the Japanese colonial period!
It was really amazing and beautiful😀
Since the fossils of living things are well preserved, it has high value as a geological science experience site, so many scholars and students visit to study!
Currently, the commentary program has been suspended due to COVID-19, but I hope the Gumunso cultural commentary program will be resumed.
The view from the top of the mountain behind the information center is also beautiful, so
I recommend going up there!

The best fall foliage travel destination in October where you can see the earliest fall foliage🍁
#FallTravel #TaebaekTravel
The earliest first fall foliage travel destination of the year🍁
The place where you can see the earliest fall foliage every year in mid-October
It's Taebaek. During the festival held from October 11th to 13th,
unfortunately, there were no maple leaves, and now they are starting to turn beautiful. 🤎
✔️I visited on October 28th last year
✔️I'll write down the places to visit as well⬇️
Most of the maple trees are really pretty, and the colors are beautiful
and there are many spots to enjoy in various ways, so it's a feast for the eyes
The maple leaves are all over the Cheoramcheon River
It's pretty even from afar🍁
Last year, I visited about 2 weeks after the festival
and the slightly falling leaves were nice, but if you go now
I think you'll be able to really enjoy the autumn atmosphere in the midst of the brightly colored maple leaves🍁🍂
A true lover who is visiting Taebaek for the 8th time recommends
If you want to see the maple leaves earlier than others, go to Taebaek🤎

📍Taebaek Cheoram Maple Forest
▫️Gangwon-do Taebaek-si Cheoram-dong Mountain 64-1
✔️If you go up the road, there is a pavilion, and it is pretty.
This year, there are many maple lights, so if you go at night, it looks mysterious. I also recommend the night view.

Summer travel Taebaek Gumunso
#SummerTravel
SummerTravel Taebaek ⭐️Gumunso⭐️ is the Chinese character for 'Gumuso', which means a river flowing through a mountain, creating a large stone gate and a deep puddle underneath. 'Gumu' means hole or cave in old times, and 'so' means puddle in Chinese characters. It is also called 'Turunae' because the river flows through the mountain. In the 'Sejong Sillok Jiriji' and 'Daedongyeojido', it is recorded as 'Cheoncheon (穿川)', meaning a river with a hole. Gumunso is where Hwangjicheon and Cheoramcheon meet. The two waterways of Hwangjicheon and Cheoramcheon met an underground cave and gradually widened the cave, creating a cave-like terrain on the ground. Looking at the unique terrain of Gumunso, you can see how the terrain of the Korean Peninsula was formed 500 million years ago. It is highly valuable as a geological science experience site because various sedimentary structures and fossils of ancient organisms such as trilobites appear in limestone layers created in a marine environment are well preserved.

Best Place to Visit in Taebaek: Goomunso!
Taebaek Goomunso
Goomunso might not be a famous tourist spot, but it's surprisingly popular among photographers!
The Paleozoic strata and erosion landforms here are designated as Natural Monument No. 417, recognized for their cultural value. It's worth stopping by even if you're just passing through!
Even if you don't understand its significance, the deep blue water and naturally formed cave-like tunnel evoke a sense of nature's mystery, which kids find fascinating!
There's a photo zone in front, making it a great spot for pictures with the background. On a good day, it's beautiful to capture with the clouds, so I highly recommend it!

Taebaek's representative tourist attraction, Gumunso, is always great to visit🪨
#WinterTravelDestination #TaebaekTravel
I visit here every time I come to Taebaek, and it's pretty every time I come,
and I can see different scenery, so I really want to recommend it as a representative tourist attraction in Taebaek🩵
Last fall, the fall foliage was beautiful and it was a great sight,
and this time, the snow-covered scenery was also beautiful❄️
Especially in the Year of the Blue Dragon, Yongyong somehow feels better
There's a photo zone, so it feels more meaningful somehow🥹
Dongjeom Tunnel is a road, so be careful and careful when taking pictures
But it's a special place, so be sure to take a certification shot🩵

Taebaek Gumunso is mysterious and beautiful every time I go there🪨
Taebaek is a place I've been to often, but especially Gumunso
This is my fifth visit, and it was my first time when the fall foliage was in full bloom, so
The surroundings were colorful and pretty, and I think it added more charm. 🍂🍁
There were a lot of tourists on tour buses that day, and they all
were taking pictures of Gumunso and enjoying themselves, so
It was a place I already knew well, but we were even more excited and
We fell into the mystery of Gumunso again. 🤎
The artificial tunnel on the road is said to be an artificial cave dug during the Japanese colonial period,
It's definitely a unique space along with Gumunso,
So I highly recommend it as a Taebaek travel destination. 🍂
