Yes I am at the local market and this is not the popular tourist Gwangjang market. This is the Gyeongdong market and you can take the subway and alight at Jegi-dong station and use exit 2 to enter the market. This market closed at 6pm and I was a bit too late when I arrived here. The stallholders were already closing their stores and doing cleaning. However my main motive was to visit a hidden cafe at this market. There are several sections here n you won’t be able to find it easily. You can use the navigation app and still miss it. Recently, Black and White Chef’s popular wet market Auntie’s Andong Soup Noodles without Menu is located in Jingdong Market. The market is like a small maze and it is not easy to find. Fortunately, a caring local Korean uncle led us to this place. We entered immediately upon arrival and within 10 minutes a group of people lined up. I ordered Andong noodle soup, three-layer pork, cabbage pancakes and various side dishes in total. The seasonings were very good, and the cabbage pancakes and three-layer pork were my favorites. I saw an article about it in SPUR and went to the local Gyeongdong Market to buy some freshly pressed domestic sesame oil 🏃‍♂️ First of all, the oil here is freshly pressed, so it has a completely different aroma 😳 It's really delicious when you make chum-mobap or bibimbap with it! I can't go back to regular sesame oil...🤤 Even in Korea, Korean sesame oil is rare, so it's more expensive than other sesame oils. They also have perilla oil, which I think was about 2,000 to 3,000 yen each. If you tell them you're bringing it back by plane, they'll pack it up nicely. They also accepted credit cards with no fees. However, there's one problem. Because it's a market, there are no store signs, so it's really hard to find. The restaurant is called Andongjip and is famous among locals!! It's in the basement, but it was hard to find the way there, so I asked the market staff for directions 💦 I ordered kalguksu and hot stone bibimbap. It comes with Chinese cabbage and mini barley rice, so you can dip the fresh Chinese cabbage in miso ♡ You can add garlic, chili peppers, and soy sauce to your kalguksu as you like! I've never eaten such delicious kalguksu... 🫠The hot stone bibimbap is also not too spicy and is the best! 😭❤️ Both are very filling! They stay hot until you finish eating!
