2025 Haast Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

Went here two nights whilst staying at the Hotel, also had two breakfasts. food was of a good standard. The staff was attentive, The one chef was able to turn out the meals at a good pace for the number that were there. Would visit again if in Haast. Good selection of drinks as well. To get access to the waterfall from the carpark is an easy 5 mins walk passing through silver beech forest. It is wheelchair-accessible and hence from this it is evident that the path is easy. The waterfall gets its name - fantail falls because it spreads out into a fan shape at its base. Many people who come here to enjoy the scenery of the waterfall and crystal clear Haast River also do rock stacking, even on the broken tree trunks. I would recommend this attraction to all walks of life as this is one of the most accessible waterfalls and involves only an easy short walk to the site in New Zealand!

was a great stop to make while driving to the west coast towards haast. wouldnt want to miss it. and only a 10 minute walk from the road

On the third day, after the ice, I plan to leave fox at the second stop. I am going to the second station, Queenstown , or on the 6th road . There is a road in the middle. It is a coastal trail . I immediately decided to stop and see if / Hh/ I didnt expect the white beach to be beautiful! is really a big egg, absolutely right! Opposite the Tasman Sea and the Tu Ou mainland face to face can climb to the observation tower to see the beautiful sea view

Wanaka to Fox Glacier Town, about 4-5 hours drive. There will be signs on the way to the attractions, if you are tired of driving, you can choose to stop and take a walk. There will also be a beach, you will know it when you see it, very obvious. Because people pick up white stones at the seaside, write names or wishes on them, and pile up a pile of wishing stones. There is a small sales car next to it. This small mobile store is also famous because there are no shops nearby.
