So, leave all the hustle and bustle behind and let your spirit be pampered. Easily accessed, a short walk from the Beppu Station. A bit of a hike up the hills, but you will be well rewarded.
As you enter through the Tori gate, you will be greeted by its centuries-old history, unique sense of identity and the two giant cedar tree. Constructed in 1196, the shrine is in nestled in the mountains. This is one of the most beautiful and oldest shrine in Beppu, a true oasis of serenity. Roam free and explore this oasis of diversity at your own pace. There was no tourist the time we visited at 9am, the surrounding was very calm and peaceful. Blessed with natural splendors, boasting an airy ambiance with a lush view and natural spring, this was a wonderful morning start and definitely one of our favourite spot in Beppu.
Definitely worth a visit.

Opening Hours - 9am to 4pm. No entrance fee.
