Secondly, to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the energy of the city was palpable. Surrounded by historic pagodas and palaces, I was particularly fascinated by the boudha, soyambhu monkey temple, home of living goddess, and the detailed artistry of Hanuman Dhoka Palace.I concluded my trip in Patan, a city renowned for its artistic heritage. Patan Durbar Square, with the stunning Krishna Mandir and its intricate stone carvings, left a lasting impression. The seamless blend of Hindu and Buddhist elements in the architecture was truly captivating. We had the pleasure of stopping by Bhaktapur Durbar Square and wandering through this beautiful historical district. These buildings and temples have been so well preserved; it’s an incredible feat, and a testament to the locals’ appreciation of their royal roots here. It truly feels as if you’re walking amongst them in the time period they were occupied by royalty, which was around 14th century! I came to Nepal with no expectation but left with tonnes of memories, deeper connections of ourselves and beautiful experiences. Many precious moments were filled with laughters, slowing down and inner peace. Watching the trees moving with the wind, listening to the birds chirping in the background and cricketeers screaming their lungs out in the middle of night. Thank you Nepal and the Nepalese people (Tej, Thakur, Deepak, Ajambar, Shehkar) that have made my trip so wonderful and enjoyable.

Trekking in the Himalayas was a deeply emotional journey. Surrounded by towering peaks and endless silence, I faced not just the mountains but myself. In my opinion, best is spend 1 day and 1 night in this amaizing city. The city offers 4 squares, each of which is unique and requires close attention. Do not spare 500 rupees and take a guide to immerse yourself in history. It is better to stay at the Hotel Traditional, right overlooking the palace square. Do not forget to try the royal yogurt and a specific set of Newari food made from bitten rice. After 9pm the city centre comes to a standstill, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the unrivalled atmosphere of this ancient city.
