A famous temple in Busan Haedong Yonggungsa Temple It is a 30-minute drive from Haeundae. The nearest station is Osiri Station, which is about a 15-minute drive from there. I was taken there by a friend... It was destroyed once during the Bunroku-Keicho War, when Toyotomi Hideyoshi invaded the Korean Peninsula. This is our First Family Trip to South Korea - Busan We planned to visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple for half a day and end up taking bit longer than we initially planned for as the scenery and view is breath taking. Surrounded by the clear blue waters and lush greeneries, you can be sure you'll find healing at this place. The temple features 108 stair steps and it represents human desires. Busan's sea temple is famous for making wishes come true. I thought I could only get there by taxi, but I was able to get there by train and bus from Seomyeon! It's quite a steep walk up the hill, but a wonderful view awaits when you get there! It was truly a spectacular view! The breeze felt so nice. It's a place I'd definitely like to go back to when I visit Busan. Busan is a city, it has the sea, nature, lots of delicious food, and lots of tourist attractions, so it was really the best place to travel!

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, formerly known as Pumen Temple, was built in 1376 by Master Lanweng, a national preceptor during the reign of King Gongmin of Goryeo. Legend has it that Master Lanweng dreamed of the Dragon King of the East China Sea, and thus built the temple on the bank of Binhai Rock. It was later destroyed during the Imjin War and rebuilt by the monk Jeongam. It is said that the monk changed the name of the temple to Haedong Yonggungsa after he dreamed of Guanyin Bodhisattva riding a dragon and wearing white clothes.
