Historic buildings

The eight-pointed star-shaped fortress was the military fortress of the British army against the French army. The castle was built on a hill, overlooking the city of Halifax. The extant castle was built in 1825 and is one of the larger stone fortresses in North America. It houses the Nova Scotia Museum and the Armory Museum.
