Historic buildings
Hancheng Confucian Temple is located in Dongxue Lane, the old city of Hancheng. It is a group of well-preserved ancient buildings. It is a representative ancient building group in Shaanxi Province since the 13th century. It is a provincial key cultural relic protection unit. There are two arches in the east and the west not far from the gate of the Confucian Temple. From these two gates, you enter the Confucian Temple. To the south, there is a glazed pan-dragon screen built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. The meaning is that the things on the Five Dragon Walls are "Lingxingmen", and there are dragons and phoenixes on both sides of the door. The Confucian Temple complex is divided into four courtyards with towering ancient cypresses. Dacheng Hall is the main building of the Confucian Temple, with a grand scale. The Minglun Hall in the north was the place where the teachings, instructions and lectures were taught in the past. On the high platform to the north is the "Zunjing Pavilion", which is the place where the scriptures are stored in the Confucian Temple. Climbing the pavilion and looking around, the scenery of the county town is in sight. The Hancheng Confucian Temple has a total construction area of more than 8,000 square meters. The entire building courtyard is wide and the layout is standardized, showing the simple, dignified and majestic style of Chinese traditional architecture. The Hancheng Museum is located in the Hancheng Confucian Temple, with a collection of nearly 10,000 cultural relics.
