Try to cover Sun Island during noon as that you could reach here in the afternoon so that you can see the day and illuminatd night version of the sculptures. The sculptures are record-breaking in size and the night illuminations add a surreal kaleidoscope of colour to the bitter cold temperaturs -30/-40°C! Getting There - We caught a train from Jilin, after going skiing there, to Harbin. Then it is easy to get a taxi to the snow and ice festival or there is a stop on the metro there. Attractions - Snow and ice festival, magical ice building and objects. would recommend going around 2:30/3pm to see before dark then waiting till they turn the lights on. Food & Restaurants - limited hot food options at the park so eat before or after in central Harbin which has some really good food.#2023travelwish #harbin

Layer on the clothes and enjoy the winter wonderland! Go to the Ice Festival around 3pm so you can see it in the day and night (sun goes down around 4pm). Didis and taxis are very affordable here, but the metro is new and clean if you want to give it a try! The Snow Sculpture Festival on Sun Island is also fun to see! I went on an overcast day, but I’m sure it’s even more gorgeous on a day with blue sky. After seeing the snow sculptures, take the cable car from the Russian style town over the river back to the main part of Harbin City.

The day I went, the weather was extremely cold. There was never a day when it wasn't -20 degrees. But it seems like there's still something that's bothering me... I have to go again for sure.

Harbin International Ice is an annual winter festival that takes place in Harbin, China. Now is the largest ice and snow festival in the world. At least it used to be so, last 2 years it's not that great as it used to be (maybe because of covid restrictions (not many people come to visit this festival unlike previous years)). But for sure it's still the most popular winter attraction in China. It's located in the West part of the Sun Island, Songbei District (Ice and snow World subway station, line 2). Harbin Ice and Snow World Ticket Price: In 2022 the price for tickets is 180/person. The most memorable for me was going down the biggest ice slide.. In the evening, our group of friends rested in the coffee house of the constellation castle, waiting for the sunset light to light up. The sky was just dark, and the little friends ignored the exhaustion and the cold, and said that the lights were bright and they could go out to take pictures. The joyful ice park instantly transforms into the night's dream mode, and I am excited to climb the steps, taking a small shot and taking a look at the beautiful night of the beautiful ice and lights.
