I saw a lot of signs with "Maru-Kei" written on them. I wondered what it was? 🤔 So I went in. At first glance, it wasn't a big place, and I thought it was just a shop selling Arita ware, but... It was a veritable department store of pottery, with three floors including a small room! It's located deep in the Nishinohara area! Unlike other stores, the ice cream here takes about a year to make! The eggs used in the ice cream are made from the yolks of Kawatana rice eggs raised in a free-range environment at Kometama. Nishinohara is a tourist spot in Hasami Town that was renovated from a former pottery factory building from the early Showa period. It's fun just to walk around in the retro atmosphere! A new space that retains the original appearance of the factory. Some of the facilities are registered as national tangible cultural properties because they have been preserved as they were: the factory office, fine workshop, painting room, glaze refinery, and climbing kiln. Nishinohara in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki A building designated as a national tangible cultural property, this wonderful spot is lined with cafes, restaurants and general stores. All the shops were lovely, and the weather was nice that day, so it was very pleasant. The line was huge, but I could buy the plates I wanted at a reasonable price, so I put up with it 😁 I looked around looking for small bowls. The number of stores that accept cashless payments is increasing every year, but there are also many stores that only accept cash, so I think it's a good idea to prepare both. There are stores around Yakimono Park as well as venues, so do your research beforehand. The ceramic craftsman called himself a pottery farmer and also reflected the serious mentality of being a craftsman and taking every piece of his work seriously. The restaurant in the Japanese countryside is very good. The whole restaurant is a large garden. A small road guides guests to the wooden houses on the river. The main focus here is the real estate shed wood and vegetables, the locally-produced miso, and the tea of the Yeoksang Township Liuxuan Tea House. Of course, the tableware and tea set used are also locally produced by "Pozzo Jian Shao". If you make an appointment in advance, you can also experience the fun of making a ready-to-baked pizza from the dough. The kiln for baking pizza is also transformed from the kiln that was previously fired with pottery!

The second ceramic store in Zhongweishan is called Zhongjingshan Aokura. This family has more style. A traditional Japanese building on the black tiled white wall, with all the barriers open, is a spacious compartment with old wooden furniture showing a variety of exquisite ceramics. One deep and one shallow, one black and one white, the texture of the furniture is better to set off the delicate and smooth ceramic. The second floor is a small attic, with blue and white ceramic ornaments and antiques. There is no price. If you look at it, ask the seller for a quote.
