Sazae-san Walk in Sakurashinmachi – Tokyo’s Cozy Cartoon Town
#cityplaybook
If you’re in the mood for a quiet, quirky stroll through Tokyo, Sakurashinmachi is a charming little stop—especially if you’re a fan of Japan’s beloved anime family, Sazae-san.
The neighborhood has a relaxed, local vibe that makes you feel like you’re part of the community. I started my visit at the Hasegawa Machiko Art Museum, which celebrates the life and work of Sazae-san’s original creator. The museum is calm and colorful, with sweet little details for longtime fans.
Next to the museum, you’ll find Sazae-san Park, complete with statues and nods to the characters. It’s small but adorable. Then I strolled along Sazae-san Street, where even the manhole covers and shop signs are themed—so fun to spot!
Why I recommend Sakurashinmachi:
・It’s full of nostalgic charm, especially for Sazae-san fans
・A quiet Tokyo neighborhood perfect for a peaceful, themed walk
