#2023travelwish When I landed in Cuba, my airport experience was unlike any other. Havana airport looked straight out of the 1950s At Havanas is just like stepping into the past with the retro cars and building around, backstreets of rundown houses, construction and piles of trash. It was totally under develop. I loved Havana. I spent days wandering around, chatting to friendly locals in parks and exploring around the architecture and riding in one retro car. One of the drawback is very very limited access to the internet . Hotel charge very high fee to access and only each pax have limited access per day. But still will definitely wish to go back to Havana if time permits.

We came to La Bodeguita Del Medio in Havana, said to be where the classic Mojito is invented. As this fact is often disputed, no one actually knows the truth. But one’s visit should not be to seek the verity, but to merely practise humility and sip Mojito in serenity. The museum of the Revolution is housed in a beautiful building: the former presidential palace to all presidents of Cuba prior to the Cuban revolution. The museum's main highlight is the Cuban revolution and seeks to inform its visitors about the event, the Cuban struggle for independence and the events leading up to it. As such, many artifacts from that time are also displayed in the museum. This includes several aircrafts in the back, as well as a tank at the entrance. Apart from this, it's simply amazing to wander the grand rooms of this building and it really shows the lavish opulence of the leaders of the time. The building itself is grand and majestic and is another prime example of neo-classical architecture. The museum is also home to several powerful and color paintings. Overall, the museum is quite informative and there are interesting exhibits. It chronicles the Cuban revolution and is housed in a beautiful building that still stands majestically. Cuba is still not as popular as other countries in the Caribbean. That's mainly because it's difficult for Americans to enter Cuba. But citizens of many other countries will find it much easier. I flew in from Cancun in Mexico and received my visa for Cuba while queuing for the plane. Havana has a feeling like going back in time. Buildings are old and broken, but that is the whole charm of the city, because it is also very colorful. Though the locals are poor, they seem to enjoy life to the fullest in food, dance and alcohol. Stroll around the old town and admire the old churches and other buildings. Visit a bar to sample some rum. Go to a cigar factory to see how they are made. Take a ride in one of the old-timer cars. Explore the local museum. Go for a stroll along the seaside. Whatever you choose to do, you will be sure to have a great time.

The historic center of Havana is lovely; art déco buildings are juxtaposed harmoniously against colorful colonial styled buildings. You'll be greeted by majestic art déco theatres and hotels that are picture perfect. The presence of 1950s cars further adds to this allure. A bit further you'll find lovely Spanish styled squares complete with colonial styled cathedrals and churches that are majestic and beautiful in its own way. Being the capital of the country, you'll also find pieces of Cuba's revolutionary past. This is most notable in Plaza de la Revolucion, a part of town that is filled with Brutalist styled buildings and monuments. It is nonetheless very interesting to visit and has an iconic Che Guevara façade. Finally don't forget to spend some time chilling and relaxing along the sea, the Malecon. It's a great place to actually eat, while admiring the city and the sea that surrounds it. Overall, Havana is an absolute gem. You'll find majestic art déco 1950s buildings alongside colonial cathedrals and squares. You'll also find grand monuments that honor its revolutionary past. The sunset at ✨Malecon Beach in Havana✨ is really pretty, but it is said that it is hard to see it often because the weather is unpredictable. I was able to see the beautiful sunset only one day out of three! If you stay in Havana, you can walk to the beach for about 30 minutes, so if you didn’t see it on the first day, I recommend going the next day, or even once during your stay, to see the sunset!!
