Goat visiting at Hay Dairies Kranji
#zoofun
Hay Dairies is Singapore's only goat farm located north in the Kranji Countryside.
Upon reaching the farm, you can get to watch the goats being milked by the staff. They used specialised equipment to do so, likely because it will be more hygienic and efficient that way. This is done only in the morning till 10.30am, so do go early if you do not want to miss this.
You can also purchase a bag of hay to feed the goats lined up on both sides to satisfy their voracious appetites; an activity sure to entertain both kids and adults alike.
Before leaving, you can purchase goat milk from their shop which is their signature selling item, provided if you are okay with the taste. Alternatively, they sell other souvenirs too.
The farm is open everyday except Tuesday, from 9am till 4pm, so take note of the opening hours to avoid disappointment. Admission is free.
However, do note that it is not so easily accessible and it is difficult to get there via public transport. Self driving is recommended. But be warned that it can get extremely crowded on weekends and holidays, and due the narrow driveways traffic jams can occur. Personally, I would prefer to arrive there early in the morning and on a weekday if possible. But if you have kids, this place is still a great opportunity for them to explore the farm away from their textbooks, and instill a love and compassion for animals early.
