Heiyu River, located in the Heiyu River Canyon of Tengchong Volcano Geopark, is an underground dark river. After the volcanic eruption, the magma blocked the underground river, causing the underground water to flow out of the ground. Because thousands of black fish flow out of the water outlet every summer and autumn, it is named Heiyu River (Black Fish River). The river is surrounded by large forests and rich natural vegetation. The trees are towering and lush. The wild macaques by the road are not afraid of people and are not wild. From time to time, villagers nearby sell food for feeding monkeys. If you are interested, you can also buy bananas and peanuts, watch the little monkeys take food from your hands, monkey mothers climb trees with their cubs on their backs, and monkeys fight in groups, and experience the fun of feeding wild macaques at close range. The water of Heiyu River is crystal clear, and the stones and water plants at the bottom of the river are clearly visible.
