A trip to Eastern Europe brought us to the picturesque lakeside town of Hallstatt. With its emerald mountains, clear lake, drifting mist, and church bell tower, it forms a beautiful postcard scene! If you visit Hallstatt without staying a night, how can you experience the town's most beautiful dusk and dawn? Make sure to spend the extra money on a lake view room to truly immerse yourself in the scenery! The Heritage Hotel is located right next to the pier and the church, offering prime lake views. The hotel has two buildings, and we were assigned to the one perched on the hillside. Although it wasn't directly by the lake, the higher elevation provided even better lake views, complete with a private balcony overlooking Lake Hallstatt. It was fantastic. We booked two superior double rooms, with a rate of €353 per night excluding breakfast. It's not too expensive, considering the rooms are 22 square meters with a private balcony and a sofa lounge area. The room I stayed in was on the top floor with a slanted roof, and there was a skylight above the bed, allowing us to stargaze while lying in bed. It was truly exceptional. The town is incredibly peaceful and pleasant in the early morning and evening, unlike the crowded and noisy daytime. Staying one night is really worth it, as you can capture postcard-perfect scenes without any tourists, making it look like a painting.

It's super fun! 📸 **Postcard Viewpoint**: Gosaumühlstraße 67, the best photo spot in town! Standing here, you can see Lake Hallstatt and the colorful town in full view. Every shot is postcard-worthy. It's recommended to come in the evening when the golden sunset is extra beautiful. ⛪ **Catholic Church and Bone House**: The church is located on the mountainside and is a landmark of the town. Usually, people go to Hallstatt for a day trip, but I highly recommend staying at a hotel with a view of Lake Hallstatt and exploring the quiet Hallstatt. Hallstatt is such a popular tourist destination that it's noisy with group tourists during the day, but it gets quiet in the evening. I was so happy to walk along the quiet Lake Hallstatt. At the Heritage Hotel Hallstatt where I stayed, you can use the private sauna if you make a reservation in advance. I was so happy to enjoy the warm sauna after a walk in the cold air! And we booked a lake view room, so we could enjoy the snowy mountains and lake of Hallstatt while sitting in the room!! The breakfast was also delicious because it had a variety of food. If you are looking for a hotel in Hallstatt, I highly recommend the Heritage Hotel.

#bucketlistreboot Address: Landungspl. 101, 4830 Hallstatt, Austria The restaurant was exceptional. Get the liver dumpling soup. Free breakfast with room, so so good, so many choices. Amazing location, rooms were bigger than I expected also the balcony view of the lake was exceptional. The hotel is spread over 3 properties and we were in one of the satellite ones which I think was an upside overall. Our block was quieter and had a better view than the ones in the main block which has a car park and loads of tourists in front of it. Downsides are that you have a longer walk with your luggage and to/from breakfast.
