🌟 Must-See Attractions
🌊 **Lake Hallstatt**: The soul of the town! The lake is shrouded in a thin mist in the early morning, like a fairyland. Be sure to get up early to take beautiful photos. During the day, you can take a boat trip on the lake to see the green hills and colorful wooden houses 🏡. You might even encounter cute swans, so remember to bring bread to feed them!
🏔️ **Hallstatt Salt Mine**: One of the oldest salt mines in the world, with a history of over 7,000 years! Take the cable car 🚠 to the mountainside, put on a miner's suit, and start a wonderful mine tour. Experience the thrilling miner's slide, learn about the history of salt mining, and finally take a boat ride on the underground salt lake. It's super fun!
📸 **Postcard Viewpoint**: Gosaumühlstraße 67, the best photo spot in town! Standing here, you can see Lake Hallstatt and the colorful town in full view. Every shot is postcard-worthy. It's recommended to come in the evening when the golden sunset is extra beautiful.
⛪ **Catholic Church and Bone House**: The church is located on the mountainside and is a landmark of the town. The bone house next to the church contains more than 1,200 skulls, some of which are painted with exquisite patterns. It's very shocking, so please be quiet when visiting.
🍱 Food to Try
🐟 **Grilled Trout**: A must-eat in Hallstatt! The fish is caught fresh from the lake, with tender meat that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It's served with a local specialty sauce, which is amazing! It's recommended to go to Heritage House restaurant, where the outdoor seats face the lake, so you can enjoy the scenery while you eat.
🥩 **Viennese Schnitzel**: A classic Austrian dish, pork chops coated in breadcrumbs and fried until golden brown, crispy and delicious. It's served with mashed potatoes and vegetable salad, which is refreshing and delicious. The one at Gastof Weisses Lamm restaurant is very good.
