It is a short hike up through the grassland till the peak. At the peak you get to have a panoramic view od the samosir island. There is a toilet located before the trail entrance. There is aslo a coffee shop outside the trail entrance in case you never bring bottled water. To get to Bukit Holbung you need to take a flight to Medan or Silangit. From there there is alot of choices of transportation. It's up to your discretion. It is one of the easiest hike around and the lowest around Samosir and it is child friendly too. Take your time to hike up and enjoy the moment. The sceenic view calms your soul. #asiatrip

This place is incredible beautiful. You must go here at least one of your lifetime. It's about 2 hours driving car from Sidikalang city across Tele. It’s called Bukit Holbung in the local language. If you wanna go here, you can plan your trip together to Efrata waterfall as they share the same main road. Mind you, the road is winding and certain parts of the road are not in good condition. At the beginning of the track there is proper staircase to reach up the hill. After that its only a natural trail. It is advisable to wear proper shoes if you intend to hike up further as the pathway has loose gravel and a bit slippery. Once you reach the top, you are greeted with a magnificent 360 ° view of the lake, hills and villages. It was worth the hike and journey to get here.
