Ordos Zoo
Ordos Wildlife Park is located in Dongsheng District, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a national AAAA tourist attraction. Here is a detailed introduction:
1. Basic Information:
- Area: The park covers an area of 12 square kilometers, making it one of the largest zoos in western Inner Mongolia and even in China.
- History: Construction began in 2010, and the park officially opened to the public in July 2012. In September 2013, it was rated as a national AAAA tourist attraction.
2. Park Layout:
- Animal Display Areas: The park is mainly divided into four animal display areas: Rainforest Area, Asia Area, Africa Area, and Science and Leisure Area. Each area has its unique geographical environment and animal species.
- Venues: There are many animal exhibition venues and outdoor breeding areas, such as the Panda House, Bird Garden, Dinosaur House, Bird of Prey Garden, Macaque House, Gibbon House, Waterfowl House, Lemur House, Flamingo Garden, Giraffe Garden, Elephant Garden, Rhino and Hippo Garden, etc.
3. Main Attractions:
- Tianlangyu: Covering an area of 500 mu, it is home to more than 130 Xinjiang wolves and grassland wolves. The park uses advanced animal isolation methods such as trenches and electric nets, and provides four viewing modes: cage car viewing, walking viewing, glass corridor viewing, and trestle viewing, allowing visitors to observe the wolf pack from multiple angles.
- Small Animal Park: It is a warm paradise for children, where alpacas, ponies, red pandas, muntjacs, and black-capped squirrel monkeys live. Children can touch and feed these cute little animals at close range. The area is also equipped with entertainment facilities such as swings and slides.
- Panda House: In September 2016, a pair of twin national treasure giant pandas, Qiqiao and Qixi, were introduced from the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base. According to the living habits of giant pandas, the house is equipped with a breeding operation area, an indoor soundproofing and noise reduction area, an outdoor natural lighting area, a science area and a monitoring area, a fresh bamboo cold storage room, a panda kitchen, and other facilities, as well as heating and humidifying equipment to ensure the temperature and humidity requirements of giant pandas.
- Rhino House: It is home to two white rhinos introduced from Tanzania, Africa. White rhinos are the second largest land animals after elephants. They have poor eyesight and mainly rely on hearing and smell. Their bodies are covered with thick skin, with a thickness of 2.5 cm. They like to roll in mud to drive away parasites.
- Waterfowl Lake: It is a colorful area with mountains, water, and cute little animals. There are gentle and passionate flamingos, as well as gray geese, swans, mallards, and other waterfowl.
- Other Venues: Such as the Giraffe House, Elephant House, Lion and Leopard House, Kangaroo House, Bear Garden, Tiger and Leopard Mountain, Gibbon House, etc., each displaying various characteristic animals.

- Interactive Experience: The zoo continuously improves and enhances the interactive experience of visitors.
