This church is better known in Georgian as Sameba and was built in 2004 and it is the third-tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world and one of the largest religious buildings in the world by total area. The building looks simply colossal and can be seen from almost any hill in Tbilisi. Visiting tips: Church attendance is free, but you must dress appropriately. There is an amazing beautiful park around the biggest church in city Tbilisi, Georgia. The magnificent stairs leading to church make it feel like pilgrimage. There is a beautiful pond with birds which is quite unusual. The church itself is smaller than I thought, but the ceilings are extremely high which gives it a feeling of reaching the sky. Gorgeous place!

So this isn't really Mestia. These photos were taken during my backpacking trip in Svaneti but only Mestia shows up as a location. This landscape comes with a blazing sun cooled by glacial breeze and friendly locals who make everything from their own yoghurt to their own bread.
