Kyoto Hanami | The beautiful weeping cherry blossoms are at Honmanji Temple
Tanizaki Junichiro wrote in 'The Makioka Sisters'
"If the cherry blossoms are not of Kyoto,
seeing them is no different from not seeing them at all."
Compared to Tokyo, Osaka, and others,
Kyoto has an extra touch of tradition and simplicity,
admiring the cherry blossoms here makes one feel as if
amidst the fluttering cherry blossoms,
they are traveling through a time tunnel,
engaging in a dialogue with the scenery from hundreds of years ago.
This year is Japan's latest cherry blossom season in ten years
The whole world has bloomed but Japan has not, haha~
Luckily, I postponed my flight and finally waited for the full bloom
I came to check in as soon as my friends said it was in full bloom
I was totally moved to tears by the beauty!
The weeping cherry is a variety more esteemed by the Kyoto nobility,
it is pickier about its living environment,
but it also has a longer lifespan,
and its blooming period is about four to five days earlier than the Yoshino cherry,
so I was able to see it on the first day.
Honmanji Temple is located in the city area,
but it is quite niche, even taxi drivers don't know about it, haha.
The temple is in Kamigyo Ward, Teramachi Street,
simple and tranquil, modest and frugal.
In front of the abbot's quarters, there is a weeping cherry tree, known as a scenic beauty.
Seeing it this time, I was truly amazed by the beauty
The weeping cherry sways, and the blossoms fill the sky
Such beauty cannot be described in words.
Many ladies in kimonos come here to take photos,
and sweet lovers 💑 come to take pictures together,
this is the most beautiful time of the year......
