#timetotravel Many may not know this place but not to comic fans and lovers, Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars was opened in 2012. It’s all about HK famous comics from 1960-2010. Its entrance at Park Lane Shopper’s Boulevard, Tsimshatsui, Nathan Road, Hong Kong. Just a few minutes walks away from Jordan MTR station. At the entrance, the Comic Gate: 32 classic comic characters are casted as chess pieces on displayed to welcome visitors. The Comic Boulevard: 24 classic comic characters together with their artist’s bronze hand print displayed, as “Hall of Fame” of the HK Comic. I went to Temple Street Night Market and to the Ladies Market and bagged a few souvenirs, magnets and presents. Other places I visited include Xiqu Centre in West Kowloon Cultural District and the Avenue of Stars. In addition, I did a walking tour of Hong Kong and exploring the architecture of the city. Really enjoyed visiting temples, they were so different from what I am used to and a real highlight for me. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, one of the oldest zoological and botanical centres in the world, and the oldest park in Hong Kong.

how to get there: it’s right next to Kowloon Mosque. Go from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. Past the mosque and you’ll see a little walkway with brightly lit anime characters on a staircase. Follow it up and to the left and you will find this. I actually liked this better than the Chinese walk of stars on the pier because of the anime figures and the story of each is told in English and Chinese on the plaques. Also, a little bio about the artist. The park that it runs through is also super peaceful and has a playground and fountains and a path that is great if you’re a runner. Comic lovers must visit the Avenue of Hong Kong Comic Stars in Kowloon Park. Not as long as the Avenue of Stars, one of the famous landmarks in Hong Kong, this Avenue of Comics has 100 meters long, with 32 comic figures such as Old Master Q, Din Dong, or all-time favorite pig McDull situated along the way. Besides the figures, Avenue of Comic Stars also has ten bronze handprints. Similar to the Avenue of Stars, visitors have the chance to clap their hands on the handprints of local comic artists such as Dr. Tony Wong or Mr. Ma Wing-shing.
