One-day food recommendations in Valencia 🤍 🥘
Valencia is the birthplace of Paella, the national dish of Spain. As avid fans of Paella, we went to Valencia to taste the most authentic Paella in Spain. In addition to Paella, we also had a Spanish-style afternoon tea. It was a real gourmet day trip.
Our first meal started with Paella🤍For lunch we came to the Paella fast food restaurant which is frequented by locals. Did you know that Paella didn’t originally have seafood as an ingredient? Traditional Paella actually uses chicken, rabbit and beans as ingredients. Since Paella is usually served to 2 people, we were afraid that we might not like the traditional taste. Fast food restaurants are the best choice! This Arrocería Ricepaella has a high rating of 4.8 stars on Google. There are many large plates of Paella in the store. You can choose the flavor you want to try! We chose two flavors: traditional and cuttlefish. The traditional ones were surprisingly good, a bit like our chicken risotto. Unfortunately, Spanish people have a stronger taste, and we felt that both flavors were a bit salty. However, it is cheap and you can try different flavors. I still recommend everyone to try it🤍
For our next meal, we went to a traditional coffee shop, Horchateria De Santa Catalina. This restaurant has a long history and its most famous dishes are Horchata and Churro. Horchata is the most famous and traditional drink in Valencia, and it looks a bit like soy milk. It's made with tiger nuts (a type of almond) and is very sweet. Locals eat it with Churros. However, I don’t like almond products, so I’m not a big fan of Horchata. On the contrary, I really like Churro sprinkled with sugar. When you come to Valencia, it is impossible not to try the traditional drink. Plus, the air conditioning in the store is very comfortable. Therefore, I still recommend this coffee shop 🤍
For our last meal, we made a reservation at Tasca Hogan “La Coveta” for dinner in Valencia. It's very crowded, so make a reservation. Otherwise, you will have to wait for a while before you can go in. We looked at the menu and after some hesitation, decided to order a portion of mussels and a prawn Paella for two! I didn't expect to eat 3 types of paella in one day🤣The mussels here are delicious. Not only are the ingredients themselves very fresh and sweet, but their sauce is also amazing👍🏼However, the Paella here surprised us even more. It was better than the Paella at noon (and the price was much more expensive🤣). Its prawns were very fresh and sweet, and the rice absorbed all the juice. We really couldn't stop eating it 🤍The foreign couple next to us also said that the Paella here is excellent. So everyone who comes to Valencia must try this restaurant, especially their Paella!
