The Horniman Museum is very large and can see a large number of exhibits from all over the world. It is a museum focusing on human history and the natural environment. In the museum, you can also see many strange musical instruments and a huge number of animal specimens created by little-known human civilizations.

A brilliant museum in southeast London
Let me tell you about my recent visit to the Horniman Museum and Gardens in London! It was an absolute delight.
First of all, let me just say that the Horniman Museum and Gardens is a true gem in London. It's not as well-known as some of the other museums in the city, but it's definitely worth a visit. The museum is located in Forest Hill, which is a bit of a trek from central London, but trust me, it's worth it.
One of the things that makes the Horniman Museum and Gardens so special is its collection. The museum has a wide range of exhibits, from natural history to anthropology to musical instruments. I was particularly impressed by the natural history exhibits, which included everything from taxidermy animals to fossils to live animals (yes, live animals!). I also loved the musical instruments exhibit, which had instruments from all over the world and even had a section where you could play some of them yourself.
But the real highlight of the Horniman Museum and Gardens, in my opinion, is the gardens. The museum is set on 16 acres of land, and the gardens are absolutely stunning. There are several different gardens within the larger park, including a formal garden, a sunken garden, and a medicinal garden.
I spent hours wandering around the gardens, taking in the beautiful flowers and plants and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Horniman Museum and Gardens,
#getgoing2025During my visit to the Horniman Museum and Gardens, I had the chance to explore a variety of fascinating exhibits. The museum housed a diverse collection, including cultural artifacts, musical instruments, and natural history specimens. One of the highlights was the large taxidermy animal collection, including a stuffed elephant, which was both impressive and educational. The aquarium section was another standout, with vibrant fish and marine life on display. After exploring the museum, I enjoyed a light meal at the café, where I had a delicious sandwich and a drink for around £10. The gardens surrounding the museum offered a tranquil space to relax, making the whole experience a perfect mix of learning and leisure.

Horniman Museum - London
The Horniman Museum has exceptional charm. Where else in the British capital can you find an aquarium, a butterfly nursery, a library, a lecture hall, an ethnographic exposition, a hall dedicated to wildlife in the spirit of a provincial museum of local lore with elements of a cabinet of curiosities and an absolutely breathtaking collection of musical instruments under one roof? And for this it is worth coming here at least once.
The museum is surrounded by the Horniman Gardens, which are a rich collection of trees: plane trees, yew, cedar.
Address: 100 London Road, Forest Hill, London, SE23 3PQ.
